Natoli is from Oswego, New York. He graduated from Oswego High School. For college, he attended State University of New York at Oswego and graduated with a degree in Communications in 1980. [3] [4] He is married to Peggy Natoli and has two children. He was a deacon at Oswego Alliance Church. [4]
Business wise, Natoli used to own Rentavision. Rentavision rented furniture and household items. [3] [4] In 1999, the company was acquired by Rent-Way Inc. They acquired Rentavision for $92 million in cash. They also took on the debt and stock holdings of $6 million. [5] As owner of Rentavision, Natoli was awarded the Ernst & Young, Entrepreneur of the Year Award. [6]

Natoli has broken twelve Guinness World Record strongman records, including three in a nine-month period. [3] Natoli broke the record for "most weight arm-curled in one hour," in May 2011, he lifted a total of 60,019 pounds. [8] In October, 2011, he broke the world record for "most weight lifted by front dumbbell raises in one hour." He lifted 39,720 pounds, totaling 1,986 repetitions. [7] In 2012, on Groundhog Day, he broke the world record for "most weight lifted by barbell rows in one hour," by lifting a 40-pound barbell for one hour a total of 1,360 times for an aggregate total of 51,640 pounds. He broke the previous record by 10,887.5 pounds, as held by Eamonn Keane. On April 4, 2013 he consecutively broke two Guinness World Records. The first, "Most Step-ups in One Minute with a 40-lb Pack" (52), [9] then "Most Step-ups in One Minute with a 60-lb Pack" (47), [10] breaking both Guinness World Records previously held by Paddy Doyle from the United Kingdom. On March 22, 2014, he consecutively broke three world records. The first, "Most Step-ups in One Minute with an 80-lb Pack" (41), [1] followed by, "Most Step-ups in One Minute with a 100-lb Pack" (38), [1] breaking both Guinness World Records previously held by Paddy Doyle from the United Kingdom, ending with, "Most Weight Lifted by Dumbbell Rows in One Minute (Using One Arm)," lifting an aggregate total of 4,356 pounds, [1] breaking the previous record of 3,125.5 pounds, as held by Eamonn Keane. He uses these events to raise money for charities in the Syracuse, New York region. [3] [11] On October 14, 2017 Bob Natoli received his 12th Guinness Record by completing 48 squats while carrying a 60lb pack, besting the record previously held by Silvio Sabba of Italy. On December 15, 2022 Bob Natoli received his 13th Guinness Record for "most weight lifted by dumbbell curls in one hour". Bob set a brand new record and curled 35, 547 pounds.

Louis Cyr was a Canadian strongman with a career spanning the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His recorded feats, including lifting 500 pounds (227 kg) with one finger and backlifting 4,337 pounds (1,967 kg)(2 tons), show Cyr to be, according to former International Federation of BodyBuilding and Fitness chairman Ben Weider as stated in 2000, the strongest man ever.
The bench press, or chest press, is a weight training exercise where a person presses a weight upwards while lying horizontally on a weight training bench. Although the bench press is a full-body exercise, the muscles primarily used are the pectoralis major, the anterior deltoids, and the triceps, among other stabilizing muscles. A barbell is generally used to hold the weight, but a pair of dumbbells can also be used.
The push-up is a common calisthenics exercise beginning from the prone position. By raising and lowering the body using the arms, push-ups exercise the pectoral muscles, triceps, and anterior deltoids, with ancillary benefits to the rest of the deltoids, serratus anterior, coracobrachialis and the midsection as a whole. Push-ups are a basic exercise used in civilian athletic training or physical education and commonly in military physical training. They are also a common form of punishment used in the military, school sport, and some martial arts disciplines. Variations of push-ups, such as wide-arm push-ups, diamond push-ups target specific muscle groups and provide further challenges.
A barbell is a piece of exercise equipment used in weight training, bodybuilding, weightlifting, powerlifting and strongman, consisting of a long bar, usually with weights attached at each end.
Bicep curls are a group of weight training exercises in which a person bends their arm towards their body at the elbow in order to make their biceps stronger.
A squat is a strength exercise in which the trainee lowers their hips from a standing position and then stands back up. During the descent, the hip and knee joints flex while the ankle joint dorsiflexes; conversely the hip and knee joints extend and the ankle joint plantarflexes when standing up. Squats also help the hip muscles.
The deadlift is a weight training exercise in which a loaded barbell or bar is lifted off the ground to the level of the hips, torso perpendicular to the floor, before being placed back on the ground. It is one of the three powerlifting exercises, along with the squat and bench press.
Douglas Ivan Hepburn was a Canadian strongman and weightlifter. He won weightlifting gold medals in the 1953 World Weightlifting Championships as well as the 1954 British Empire Games in the heavyweight division. He is also known as the first man to bench press 400, 450, 500, and 550 pounds (raw). During the 1950s he was publicly known as the "world's strongest man" for his many feats of strength. Hepburn has been inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame (1953), Canada's Sports Hall of Fame (1955), and the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame (1966).
Žydrūnas Savickas is a Lithuanian powerlifter and professional strongman. Due to his 84 international wins in major international strongman competitions including four World's Strongest Man championships, eight Arnold Strongman Classic championships, two IFSA Strongman World Championships, and over 70 world records, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest strength athletes of all time.
William Kazmaier is an American former world champion powerlifter, world champion strongman and professional wrestler. During the 1970s and 1980s, he set numerous powerlifting and strongman world records, and won two International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Championships and three World's Strongest Man titles. In the 1980s, Kazmaier became famous for his claim to be "the strongest man who ever lived" by equaling and surpassing spectacular and versatile feats of strength of famous strongmen of the 20th century. He is widely considered to be one of the all-time greatest competitors in strength competitions and was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.
Glenn Ross known by his nickname "The Daddy", is a Northern Ireland former International Strongman and Powerlifter who has represented Northern Ireland and the UK in several World's Strongest Man competitions and various World Grand Prix and European Team competitions. Ross is the founder of the UK Strength Council and Scotland Strength Association and creator of the UK's Strongest Man competition as well as several regional and national qualifying events.
Arthur Saxon, born Arthur Hennig and nicknamed "The Iron-Master", was a German strongman and circus performer from the late 19th century into the early 20th century. Saxon is best known for the bent press, a lift in which he was far superior to any other strongman, setting a world record of 168 kg (370 lb) which remains unbroken to this day. He also lifted 175.1 kg (386 lb) informally in a gym, as well as making a "two hands anyhow" lift of 203 kg (448 lb).

Eamonn Keane is an Irish primary school teacher from Louisburgh, County Mayo who specialises in endurance weightlifting.
The Arnold Strongman Classic is an annual competition featuring strength athletes from all over the world, determining who is the Strongest Man in the World. Created by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jim Lorimer and Terry Todd, it is an offshoot of the Arnold Sports Festival which takes place annually in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
Brian Shaw is an American professional strongman who is widely regarded as one of the greatest strength athletes of all-time. He won the 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2016 World's Strongest Man competitions, and in 2011, became the first man to win the Arnold Strongman Classic and the World's Strongest Man competitions in the same calendar year, a feat he replicated in 2015. With 26 international competition wins, he is the fourth most decorated strongman in history behind Lithuania's Žydrūnas Savickas, Poland's Mariusz Pudzianowski and Iceland's Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson.
Edward Stephen Hall is an English television presenter, and retired strongman. Hall was the winner of the World's Strongest Man 2017 competition. Hall has also won national competitions such as UK's Strongest Man, Britain's Strongest Man and England's Strongest Man multiple times.
World's Ultimate Strongman was an annual strongman competition which began on October 26, 2018. The event has a number of rival and parallel competitions, including the World's Strongest Man, the Arnold Strongman Classic and the Giants Live Tour.
Oleksii Novikov is a Ukrainian professional strongman. He won the 2020 World's Strongest Man competition, becoming the second Ukrainian to win the title since Vasyl Virastyuk in 2004, and at 24 years, 278 days, he is also the second youngest winner in history, being only seven days elder than Jón Páll Sigmarsson in 1984. He is also a two time World's Ultimate Strongman, Rogue Invitational champion and Europe’s Strongest Man.
