Robert Anthony Rydon (born 27 November 1964) is an English former first-class cricketer.
Rydon was born in November 1964 at Greatham,Sussex. He was educated at Sherborne School, [1] before going up to Pembroke College,Oxford. [2] While studying at Oxford,Rydon played first-class cricket for Oxford University in 1986 and 1987,making six appearances. [3] Rydon scored 72 runs in his six matches,with a high score of 20. [4] With his right-arm medium pace bowling,he took 6 wickets at an expensive average of 86.33 and best figures of 3 for 106. [5]
After graduating from Oxford,Rydon became an investment manager. He began his career at James Capel Investment Management,before joining Merrill Lynch. He joined Cazenove in 2010 as a portfolio director. [6]
Edward William Bastard was an English first-class cricketer who played for Oxford University and Somerset. Bastard was a slow left-arm orthodox bowler,described in his Wisden obituary as Somerset's best bowler during his time with the club. Bastard was also part of the Oxford team often said to be the university's best ever.
Alan Terry Castell is an English former cricketer who played for Hampshire between 1961 and 1971 at both first-class and List A level. He began his career as a leg-break and googly bowler,but later switched to medium-pace. In 112 first-class appearances,he took nearly 230 wickets.

Basil George von Brandis Melle was a South African cricketer and paediatrician. He played as a right-handed batsman and bowled right-arm medium pace and later leg breaks. Melle began his first-class career as a batsman,and it was not until he gained a Rhodes Scholarship to the University of Oxford to study medicine that Melle would achieve noterity as a bowler during the 1913 season. Employing fast leg theory bowling,he took 15 wickets at an average of 15.90 during his freshman year. David Frith,the cricket historian,saw Melle as playing a role in the origins of bodyline bowling. A finger injury and outbreak of the First World War disrupted his bowling,and when first-class cricket resumed in 1919,Melle was rarely utilised as a bowler. He graduated from Oxford and returned to South Africa,where he became a prominent paediatrician.
