Slonina grew up in the Chicago area and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1993. She married Jim Slonina in 2007.
Slonina's work has been exhibited at the Evanston Arts Center in Evanston, Illinois; the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Compton Verney Art Museum in Warwickshire, England; the Smart Museum of Art, The Peace Museum, The Contemporary Arts Workshop, and Artemisia Gallery in Chicago, Illinois; New York Mills Cultural Center in New York Mills, Minnesota; Atomic Todd Gallery in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as many other galleries and museums. In 2006, she opened Skin City Body Painting in Las Vegas, Nevada, which provides professional body paint, makeup, and hair styling to customers. The company specializes in models, entertainers, and acrobatic talent for promotions, events, conventions, and parties.
Slonina, along with RuPaul, and Craig Tracy, serves as a judge on Skin Wars , a body painting reality competition hosted by Rebecca Romijn that began airing on GSN in August 2014. [1] Contestants on the series perform challenges containing body painting each episode. At the end of each episode, one contestant is eliminated.
In 2005, Slonina started the "States of Dress" project, a series of interactive, site-specific dress sculptures. [2] The project largely incorporated materials indigenous to the respective US state. [3]

In April 2023, Mackie was awarded with the inaugural Giving Us Life-time Achievement Award by RuPaul at the RuPaul's Drag Race Season 15 finale.

The exterior design was created by Daniel Libeskind, while David Rockwell worked on interiors. For its environmentally friendly design, Crystals received LEED Gold Core & Shell certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, making it the largest retail district in the world to achieve such a feat.
The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is an art gallery in the Bellagio resort, located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It opened along with the rest of the property on October 15, 1998. Like the resort, the gallery was owned by Mirage Resorts, overseen by Steve Wynn. Craig Anthony Tracy is an American bodypainting artist and television personality based in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is widely known as the expert judge and the producer of Skin Wars, a bodypainting reality competition which aired on the Game Show Network between 2014 and 2016. Tracy is the founder of the Craig Tracy Gallery, previously known as PaintedAlive Gallery, in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Tracy is also the recipient of the World Award in the airbrush category at the World Bodypainting Festival in 2005.
Rita Deanin Abbey was a multidisciplinary abstract artist and among the first art professors at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Born in New Jersey to Polish immigrants, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1965 to teach, living there for 56 years and contributing several large-scale public artworks.
