Robin Kester [1] is a Dutch musician and songwriter [2] from Rotterdam. Her music style is often compared with that of Beth Gibbons and Weyes Blood. [3]
In 2018 the EP Peel the Skin was released by the Amsterdam record label AT EASE. [4] The following year she was the support act for the Irish band Villagers. [5] [6] In 2020 the mini-album This Is Not a Democracy was released by the same label (coproduced with Moss-frontman Marien Dorleijn). It included contributions from, amongst others, Conor O'Brien. [5] [7] The mini-album was chosen as the best album of 2020 by the editors of 3voor12, [8] and it received four stars in De Volkskrant. [9]
In 2022 she released new music. The singles Cat 13 and Leave Now were debuted on BBC 6 Music, [10] [11] and both were chosen as track of the week in De Volkskrant. [12] [13]
In 2021 she performed at ESNS. [14] [15] [16] On 5 May 2021 she was nominated for the Zilveren Notekraker. [17] In 2022 a demo version of her track Day is Done was used in the American film Press Play. [18] In March 2022 she also performed at the American cultural festival SXSW in Texas. [19] In October 2022 she was the support act for the British rock band Muse (after an invitation from their lead singer Matt Bellamy) in the Amsterdam Carré. [20]
In February 2023, her debut album Honeycomb Shades was released. Containing 11 songs, it was produced in collaboration with Marien Dorleijn, whose studio in the forest of Den Dolder was used for recording. [21] Positive reviews were received from the De Volkskrant, [22] Parool, [23] OOR, [24] Trouw [25] en NRC. [26] Following the release, Robin Kester and Amber Arcades undertook a joint tour in the Netherlands, again positively reviewed. [27] [28] The album was nominated for the 3voor12 Award for the best album of 2023, [29] reached the 'Eindlijst' (twenty best albums) of the music journal OOR [30] and was the highest ranked Dutch album on of 2022, as listed by De Volkskrant. [31] NRC called Honeycomb Shades the best Dutch album of 2023. [32]

Claw Boys Claw are a Dutch band, formed in Amsterdam. The core members of the band are Peter te Bos (vocals) and John Cameron (guitar). After some years of inactivity, the band started playing live again in 2007.
ESNS is an annual four-day music showcase festival and conference held in January in Groningen, the Netherlands. The first three days of the festival (Eurosonic) feature artists from all over Europe, the last day of the festival (Noorderslag) features only Dutch artists. The conference is held during all four days of the event. Several awards are presented during Eurosonic Noorderslag: the Music Moves Europe Talent Awards, the European Festivals Awards, the Buma Cultuur Pop Award (Popprijs), the Pop Media Award, The Feather, the "Iron Venue and Festival Animals" and the Buma Music Meets Tech Award.
Thierry Henri Philippe Baudet is a Dutch politician, author, and self-declared conspiracy theorist. He is the founder and leader of the far-right Forum for Democracy (FvD), for which he has been a member of the House of Representatives since 2017, with the exception of his paternity leave. He serves as the party's parliamentary leader. A controversial politician due to his political views, as well as his use of personal attacks against his opponents, he was physically assaulted twice while campaigning in 2023.

The Dutch Athlete of the Year is an annual award given to the most distinguished competitor in the sport of athletics from the Netherlands by the Royal Dutch Athletics Federation (KNAU). A shortlist is drawn up by a group of federation officials and sports journalists and then goes to a vote to the public. The award is presented at the annual end-of-year gala of the federation.
Clemens Zwijenberg is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a defender. He is best known for playing 148 games with FC Twente in the 1980s and 1990s.
Laurens Antonius Josephus Maria Dassen is a Dutch politician and former banker. Dassen grew up in Knegsel, studied business administration at Radboud University and worked for ABN AMRO for six years. He has been a member of Volt Netherlands since its foundation in 2018 and was elected to the House of Representatives as his party's lijsttrekker in the 2021 general election.
Derk Geertsz Boswijk is a Dutch politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives since the 2021 general election. A member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), he previously held a seat in the States of Utrecht from 2015 to 2021 and chaired his party's caucus during the last two of those years.
Stephan Ruben Tobias van Baarle is a Dutch politician. A member of the minority interest party DENK, he served on the Rotterdam municipal council from 2018 to 2022. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2021 and succeeded Farid Azarkan as DENK's parliamentary leader two years later.
Pepijn van Houwelingen is a Dutch politician of conservative populist party Forum for Democracy (FvD). He was elected to the House of Representatives in March 2021, and he served as a member of parliament until he lost his bid for re-election in November 2023. He returned to the House between January 2024 and November 2024, replacing Freek Jansen. Van Houwelingen holds a doctorate and has worked for The Netherlands Institute for Social Research for a decade.
Gideon Frederik Cornelis van Meijeren is a Dutch civil servant and politician, who has been representing Forum for Democracy (FVD) in the House of Representatives since the 2021 general election. He also held a seat in the States of South Holland and was elected to the municipal council of The Hague in 2022. He previously worked as a legislative adviser for the government. His opposition to the government's policy to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic and his statements regarding democracy – including speculation about an overthrow of the government – have drawn stark criticism from political leaders. In June 2024, Van Meijeren was sentenced to 200 hours of community service for incitement to violence for his utterances in past speeches and interviews.
Henri Bontenbal is a Dutch politician and energy consultant who has served in the House of Representatives since 18 January 2022. He has been the leader of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) since 14 August 2023.
Daniël "Daan" de Neef is a Dutch speechwriter and former politician. A member of the conservative liberal People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), De Neef was a political staffer of the VVD and owned a speech consultancy. He held a seat in the Breda municipal council starting in 2018 and was elected to the House of Representatives in the 2021 general election. De Neef stepped down the following year and switched to the Party for the Animals (PvdD) shortly after.

The Great Vacation is the sixth studio album by Dutch rock band Johan. It was released on 26 January 2024, and received good reviews by critics. Like all of Johan's music, it was released on the Excelsior Recordings label. The album was delayed numerous times due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then a glut of releases by the record label. The album was the first of the bands releases that wasn't exclusively written by Jacco de Greeuw. All songs were written by him and guitarist Robin Berlijn. The albums title also refers the period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
