Rochester Lady Lancers is an American women's soccer team based in Rochester, New York, founded in 2017. The team plays in the East conference of the United Women's Soccer league, in the second tier of women's soccer in the United States and Canada.

History

The team launched alongside the rebranded men's Rochester Lancers NPSL side in April 2017. [1]

Team owner Salvatore 'SoccerSam' Fantauzzo hired coaches Sal Galvano and Loren Inglese to form the team within 30 days. Playing home games at the Aquinas Institute the team was winless in 2017. For 2018 the team played at Marina Auto Stadium in downtown Rochester, NY. Sal Galvano took over the head coaching duties with his player/assistant coach, Brooke Barbuto. The team finished the season in 3rd place with a record of 5-3-2; Barbuto was named the MVP of the 2018 UWS Season. In 2019 the team returned to Aquinas and fell to 3-5-2. The 2020 UWS season was cancelled due to the pandemic; returning to play in 2021 the team posted a record of 0–12.

The Rochester Lancers are a professional indoor soccer team in the Major Arena Soccer League 2. The team is named in honor of the Rochester Lancers of the North American Soccer League. The team was active from November 2011 through March 2015. A new version of the team contested the 2018–19 Major Arena Soccer League 2 season; for 2019–20 the team moved back up to the MASL. After another two year hiatus the Lancers are in M2 for the 2022-23 season.

The Rochester Ravens were an American women's soccer team which played from 2009 to 2013. The team was a member of the United Soccer Leagues W-League, the second tier of women's soccer in the United States and Canada. The team played in the Great Lakes Division of the Central Conference against teams from Hamilton, Laval, London, Ottawa, Quebec City and Toronto.

NASL Final 1970 was the North American Soccer League's postseason championship final of the 1970 season. As no championship game was played for the 1969 season, it was the first championship game since the 1968 season. The event was contested in a two-game aggregate match between the Rochester Lancers and the Washington Darts. The first leg was held on September 5, 1970 at Aquinas Memorial Stadium in Rochester, New York, with the Lancers victorious by a score of 3–0. The second leg was played on September 13, 1970 at Brookland Stadium in Washington, D.C. That day the Darts came out on top by the score of 3–1. Renato Costa, who played under the alias of "Raul Herrera" that year, scored three of Rochester's four goals. With the two-day competition completed, the Rochester Lancers held a 4–3 aggregate lead and were crowned the 1970 NASL champions.

The Lamar Lady Cardinals soccer team represents Lamar University in NCAA Division I college soccer. The team, currently led by head coach Nathan Kogut, competes in the Southland Conference. The team's initial season was 2007. The Lady Cardinals' home stadium is the Lamar Soccer Complex located on the university's campus. The team began playing home games there starting with the 2009 season. The Lady Cardinals home stadium for the first two seasons was Cardinal Stadium now named Provost Umphrey Stadium.
