The Rock 'n' Roll San Jose Half Marathon is an annual half marathon race which takes place in San Jose, California in the United States. It also features a 10K and 5K race. The 2023 edition featured nearly 11,000 total runners with most participants running the half marathon. [1] It is part of the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series of road running competitions organized by the IRONMAN Group, part of Advance Publications. [2]

The Rock 'n' Roll Running Series is a collection of road running events owned and operated by the IRONMAN Group's Competitor Group, part of Advance Publications. The series is known for lining race routes with live bands, cheerleaders and themed water stations.

Linda Somers-Smith is an American long-distance runner who is a two-time United States national champion in the marathon. Somers competed in the marathon at the 1996 Summer Olympics. She also won the 1992 Chicago Marathon (2:37:41) and the 1993 California International Marathon (2:34:11). Somers is notable as she is one of the very few athletes who has continued running at the elite level since she turned Pro in 1984 into the transition to Masters athlete. She continues to win and place in Open competition, even at the age of 50, all the while as a practicing attorney.

The Liverpool Rock & Roll Marathon was a running race that took place in Liverpool, United Kingdom as part of the Rock & Roll Marathon series. Generally the event was held in May. As it is part of the Rock and Roll race series stages are set up along the route with bands and live entertainment. The race was postponed in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic and was rescheduled for October 2021 but in September of that year it was announced that the race would not be returning after their upcoming event.
