Roderick Granville Bransgrove OBE (born 1950) is an English entrepreneur, cricket administrator and the current chairman of Hampshire County Cricket Club. A position he has held since being elected to the post in 2000, a move seen by many as saving Hampshire from insolvency. [1] His daughter, Lucy, is married to the Hampshire cricketer, Chris Wood. [2]
Bransgrove's father served in the Royal Air Force, meaning he was brought up in a number of places, including abroad in Singapore and at home in London and Kent. [1]
Bransgrove moved to Hampshire in 1985, when he was 35, to set up his pharmaceutical business, Imperial Pharmaceuticals Services. In 1995 it was merged into Shire Pharmaceuticals Group plc [3] [1] with Rod a non-executive Director of Shire 1995 to 1998. [4]

Bransgrove (as Bestie Rote) features in Southampton-based six-strong soft rock band, Strapped for Cash, which released a Christmas single for four charities including Children in Need, in 2013. [5] In 2014 the band released a debut EP, Kick Me When I'm Down, and played at the Ageas Bowl and in July 2015 supported Eric Clapton at a charity gig in Wormsley. [6]
Hampshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Hampshire. Hampshire teams formed by earlier organisations, principally the Hambledon Club, always had first-class status and the same applied to the county club when it was founded in 1863. Because of poor performances for several seasons until 1885, Hampshire then lost its status for nine seasons until it was invited into the County Championship in 1895, since when the team have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. Hampshire originally played at the Antelope Ground, Southampton until 1885 when they relocated to the County Ground, Southampton until 2000, before moving to the purpose-built Rose Bowl in West End, which is in the Borough of Eastleigh on the north east outskirts of Southampton. The club has twice won the County Championship, in the 1961 and 1973 seasons.
Billy Taylor is an English cricket umpire who was previously a professional cricketer. As an umpire, he currently represents the United States.
Henry Michael Barnard was an English first-class cricketer and professional footballer. As a cricketer, he represented Hampshire in 276 first-class matches and played an important part in helping Hampshire to win their first County Championship in 1961. As a predominantly middle order batsman, he scored over 9,000 runs for Hampshire. In football, he made 116 appearances in the Football League as an inside forward for Portsmouth, scoring 24 goals. He also played non-League football for Gosport Borough, Chelmsford City, and Poole Town.
Alan William Harrington Rayment was an English first-class cricketer and social worker. Rayment played first-class cricket for Hampshire from 1949 to 1958, scoring over 6,000 runs in 198 matches. After retiring from playing, he held a number of occupations, most notably as a senior social worker for West Sussex County Council. From March 2020 to his death in October 2020, he was Hampshire's oldest surviving cricketer.

The Hampshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Hampshire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Totton and Eling CC and the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground. They are captained by Emily Windsor. In 2018, they won Division One of the Women's County Championship, and were promoted from Division Two of the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the regional side Southern Vipers.

The Rose Bowl, known for sponsorship reasons as Utilita Bowl, is a cricket ground and hotel complex in West End, Hampshire. It is the home of Hampshire County Cricket Club, who have played there since 2001.

The South Central Counties Cup is a domestic women's one-day cricket competition in England. Organised by the Southern Vipers regional team for the six counties that make up the team's region in the South of England, its first edition took place in 2022. Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Sussex are the six teams that take part in the competition.
