Sir Roderick Howard Carnegie AC (born 27 November 1932) is a prominent Australian businessman, primarily working in the coal industry.
Carnegie was born in November 1932 in Melbourne, eldest child and only son of Douglas and Margaret Carnegie (née Allen). [1] He was educated at Geelong Grammar, Trinity College at the University of Melbourne (B.Sc. 1954), Oxford (M.A. and Dip. Ag. Ec. 1957) and Harvard (M.B.A. 1959). In the late 1950s he was President of the Oxford University Boat Club.
In 1958 he became a consultant with McKinsey & Company Inc. in the United States, in 1963 he founded the Australian practice of McKinsey in Melbourne, and in 1967 he returned to New York to become a Director of the Company. He subsequently joined CRA Limited (now Rio Tinto) as Finance Director in 1972, served as Managing Director from 1974 to 1986, and as Chairman. [2]
Since1986, he has served as a director of several companies, including the Australian Advisory Board of General Motors, CSIRO, Business Council of Australia, Group of Thirty and was Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Relations with Japan. [3]
He was awarded a knighthood, as a Knight Bachelor in the 1978 Queen's Birthday Honours list [4] In recognition of service to industry, and in the 2003 Queen's Birthday Honours list [5] he was awarded Companion of the Order of Australia In recognition of service to the promotion of innovative leadership and to the development of competitive practices in business, both national and international, and to the community, particularly in the health and arts fields. He was awarded a Centenary Medal for service to Australian society in resource development and management. [6]
His current business activities include Chairman, Pacific Edge Group.
He is a Fellow of Trinity College, Melbourne, and serves as Patron of the Australian Centre for Blood Diseases.

Thomas Alfred Pyne was an Australian politician. He was the shire chairman of the Shire of Mulgrave from 1979 to 1995, and following the amalgamation of Mulgrave with the City of Cairns, was Mayor of Cairns from 1995 to 2000. His son, Rob Pyne, was a Cairns City Councillor and State Member for Cairns in the Legislative Assembly of Queensland.

Sir Harold Murray Knight was an Australian economist. He was the third Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, serving from 1975 to 1982.
Vice Admiral Matthew John Tripovich, is a retired senior officer of the Royal Australian Navy. He served as Chief Capability Development Group from 2007 until his retirement in October 2010.
Sir Charles David Griffin CBE was an Australian lawyer and businessman, and the Lord Mayor of Sydney from 1972 to 1973. He was a prisoner of war at Changi in Singapore during World War II, and a poet.
Major General Sir William Dudley Duncan Refshauge, was an Australian soldier and public health administrator. He was Honorary Physician to Queen Elizabeth II (1955–64), director-general of the Australian Government Department of Health (1960–73), and secretary-general of the World Medical Association (1973–76).
Mark Cutifani is an Australian businessman and the former chief executive of diversified mining group, Anglo American plc where he is also a member of the Board and Group Management Committee (GMC). Cutifani is a non-executive director of Anglo American Platinum, and chairman of De Beers. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Total S.A. He was formerly CEO of South African gold mining company AngloGold Ashanti. Cutifani is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a board member of the Hydrogen Council., recipient of the AusIMM Institute Medal. and Mines and Money Lifetime Achievement Award winner.
The Surveyor General of Victoria is the person nominally responsible for government surveying in Victoria, Australia. The original duties for the Surveyor General was to measure and determine land grants for settlers in Victoria. The position was created at the time Victoria became a separate colony in 1851.
Joseph Gersh AM is an Australian businessman who works as a director for public and private companies in Australia. He is also the founder and Executive Chairman of Gersh Investment Partners Limited (GIPL). He is currently Artistic Director and CEO of the Melbourne Theatre Company (MTC), and is the only person to be appointed to direct three of the five international arts festivals in Australia's State capital cities being Sydney Festival, Adelaide Festival and Melbourne Festival.

Owen Leigh Hegarty is an Australian mining professional with over forty years experience in the industry. Hegarty worked with the Rio Tinto Group for 24 years, where he held positions of Managing Director Asia and Managing Director of the group's copper and gold business. He founded the Oxiana Ltd Group which grew from a small exploration company into a multi-billion dollar base and precious metals producer, developer and explorer. Oxiana merged with Zinifex to form OZ Minerals in 2008. Hegarty's commentary on the resources sector has been published in various news media including The Age, The Australian, The Australian Financial Review, Jakarta Post, South China Morning Post, Wall Street Journal and other industry-specific publications.
Sir Christopher Sheehy OBE was one of Queensland's and Australia's leading dairy industry administrators.
Professor Lynda (Lyn) Dent Beazley is a neuroscientist and educator based in Perth, Western Australia. She is currently an Honorary Distinguished Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Western Australia, and the Sir Walter Murdoch Distinguished Professor of Science at Murdoch University. Among other awards, she has been named an Officer of the Order of Australia for her contributions to medical science a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science.

Although her roles have been almost exclusively in theatre, she has briefly worked in television in series and mini-series, as a character actress including filling in for an Judy Nunn in the series Home and Away.

Kirstin Irene Ferguson is an author, columnist and company director, and creator of the #CelebratingWomen campaign. She is also a former Royal Australian Air Force officer. In September 2018, Ferguson was appointed by Prime Minister Scott Morrison as Acting Chairman of the ABC Board, after the sacking of Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Managing Director Michelle Guthrie and the subsequent resignation of the board's chairman, Justin Milne. When Ita Buttrose was appointed Chairman of the ABC in March 2019, Ferguson became the ABC's Deputy Chairman.
