Roger Goree (born November 4, 1951) is an American former football player who played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for eight seasons. Goree played linebacker for the Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders from 1973 to 1980. He played college football at Baylor University, where he was an All-American in 1972.

The Thomas Goree Unit (GR) is a Texas Department of Criminal Justice men's prison, located in Huntsville, Texas, 4 miles (6.4 km) south of downtown Huntsville on Texas State Highway 75 South. The Goree Unit is located within Region I. First opened in 1911, it served as the only women's correctional facility in Texas until 1982, after the women were moved to state prisons in Gatesville. For a period Goree held the state's sole female death row inmate, until her conviction was changed to a non-capital offense. There was more than one death row female at Goree in 1979.
The Goree All Girl String Band, popularly known as The Goree Girls, was a band of eight female prisoners of the Goree Unit which performed in the 1940s. It was one of the first all female country and western bands in the United States.
Munday High School is a public high school located in Munday, Texas (USA) and classified as a 1A school by the UIL. It is part of the Munday Consolidated Independent School District located in southeastern Knox County. In 2003, neighboring Goree High School in Goree, Texas was consolidated with Munday and all high school grades began attending Munday. Munday High School became known "officially" as Munday Secondary School not long after the merger with Goree. The Goree school became a junior high school for the district until 2009 when the school closed and those students were transferred to Munday. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.
The 1915 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team represented the Georgia Tech Golden Tornado of the Georgia Institute of Technology during the 1915 college football season. The Tornado was coached by John Heisman in his 12th year as head coach, compiling a record of 7–0–1 and outscoring opponents 233 to 24. Georgia Tech played its home games at Grant Field. The Tech team claims a Southern championship, and had what was then the greatest season in its history.

Gorée participated in Ligue 2 and finished second in the previous season, one of the few clubs who was in the top of second-tier competition last season to win a title of a first tier competition in West Africa.
