Rom (German for Rome) is the second album released by German disco group Dschinghis Khan. It features the singles "Hadschi Halef Omar","Rom",and "Machu Picchu". The album was also released as Viva,minus four tracks ("Hadschi Halef Omar" and three tracks originally from their self-titled debut album). It was the last studio album with Steve Bender,who left the group in 1981.

Dschinghis Khan is a German Eurodisco pop band. It was originally formed in Munich in 1979 to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest with their song "Dschinghis Khan".
Hadschi Halef Omar Ben Hadschi Abul Abbas Ibn Hadschi Dawud al Gossarah, literally hajji Halef Omar, son of hajji father-of-Abbas, son of hajji David al Gossarah, is one of Karl May's literary characters. Hajji means "one who has performed the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca".
Ralph Siegel is a German record producer and songwriter. Siegel is one of the most notable figures at the Eurovision Song Contest, in which he has participated with 24 songs so far, among them the 1982 winner song Ein bisschen Frieden.
Jam & Spoon were a German electronic music duo formed in 1991 in Frankfurt. The group consisted of composers and producers Rolf Ellmer and Markus Löffel. They also worked under the pseudonyms Tokyo Ghetto Pussy, Storm and Big Room. Under these pseudonyms, the credits on the albums are listed as Trancy Spacer and Spacy Trancer.

It features the singles "Pistolero", "Loreley", "Wir sitzen alle im selben Boot", and "What Shall We Do with the Drunken Sailor". "Pistolero" and "Loreley" were also recorded in English and released internationally. In addition, "Pistolero" was recorded in Spanish and released in Latin American markets. At the time of the album's release, the group was reduced from six to five members, with Steve Bender having left the group prior to the album's recording.
