Hiromi "Romi" Dames (born November 5, 1979) is an American actress.

Biography

Born to a Japanese mother and Jewish American father, Hiromi (later shortened to Romi), lived in Japan until she turned 13; soon after, her father retired and moved the family to Seattle, Washington. [1] After finishing high school in Seattle, Romi was accepted to the University of Washington. [1] She is best known for her role as Traci Van Horn, the nasal-voiced celebrity on Hannah Montana and the voice of Musa in Nickelodeon's Winx Club . Other credits include recurring roles on The Young and the Restless , Bill Nye the Science Guy and Sci-Squad.

Romi currently serves as a Star Power Ambassador for Starlight Children's Foundation, encouraging other young people to commit their time, energy and resources to help other children and working with Starlight for the benefit of seriously ill children. [2] She is Jewish. [3]

Fate: The Winx Saga is a supernatural teen drama television series based on the animated series Winx Club, created by Iginio Straffi. It is produced by Archery Pictures in association with Rainbow, a studio co-owned by Iginio Straffi and Viacom at the time. Developed by Brian Young, who also acts as the showrunner and executive producer, it stars Abigail Cowen, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha, Eliot Salt and Elisha Applebaum.

In the 2020s, LGBTQ representation in animated series and animated films became more pronounced than it had in the 2010s, or 2000s when it came to Western animation. This included series like The Owl House, Harley Quinn, Adventure Time: Distant Lands, RWBY, and Dead End: Paranormal Park. Series like She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Steven Universe Future, The Hollow, and Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, which had various LGBTQ characters, came to an end in 2020, and Gen:Lock came to an end in 2021. An upcoming season of Hazbin Hotel was hinted at, while an animated adaption of Lumberjanes was in development.
