Ronald "Ron" Keith Langman is a South Australian photographer, businessperson and entrepreneur.
In the 1970s he created the Home Ideas Centre which brought all of the suppliers servicing the domestic building industry together under one roof which proved a national success. This idea was followed by the success of Selector.com, a website providing an online service similar to his previous venture. [1] In 2004 he received a Master of Entrepreneurship from the University of Adelaide [2] and in 2006 was made a Member of the Order of Australia "for service to the building and construction industry through the establishment of collaborative marketing ventures and as a mentor for young entrepreneurs." [3] His work commercialising intellectual property, including ideas of young businesspersons he mentored earned him seats on the Australian Government's Intellectual Property Advisory Council, [1] and on the board of Intellectual Property Australia. [4] He has also acted as a councillor for the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia and was founder of the Adelaide Art Directors Club. [5]
In August 2016, Ron opened The Strand Gallery in Port Elliot, where he sells the work of local artists, including some of his own. The gallery is housed in a former Post Office building in the township. [4] In his youth he worked as a fashion photographer in London before establishing a food photography specialist studio. [1]

Lieutenant General Sir Donald Beaumont Dunstan was an Australian Army officer who was Governor of South Australia from 23 April 1982 until 5 February 1991. A career officer, after joining the Army in 1940 during the Second World War, Dunstan graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon in 1942 and served as an infantry officer, seeing combat against the Japanese during the Bougainville Campaign in 1945. After the war, he served in a variety of appointments, including as commander of the 1st Australian Task Force during the Vietnam War. From 1977 to 1982 he held the appointment of Chief of the General Staff, before retiring from the Army having overseen a large-scale re-organisation. Afterwards, he became the longest-serving governor of South Australia. He died in 2011, at the age of 88.
The Adelaide Festival of Ideas (AFOI) fosters the public promulgation, discussion and critique of culturally and socially relevant ideas from South Australia, Australia, and around the world. It has been held every two years, over a period of three or four days. From 1999 until 2009 it ran in July. In 2011, 2013 and 2016 it ran in October. In 2018, the AFOI is held on 12-15 July.

Marcello Costa is an Italian-born Australian medical researcher, academic, and public health advocate. He specializes in the structure and functions of the enteric nervous system. He taught in Turin, Melbourne, and Helsinki before moving to Adelaide in 1975 where he was a foundation lecturer at the Flinders Medical School, building the new discipline of neuroscience at the college. He has been at Flinders University since, where he is the Matthew Flinders Distinguished Professor of Neurophysiology in the Department of Physiology.
