Ronald Armour was a Dominican politician and cabinet minister from Dominica Labour Party. [1]
Armour was born on 17 June 1940. [1] He graduated with a law degree from University of London in 1961 and with a diploma from London School of Economics in 1963,and then returned to Dominica and joined Dominica Labour Party. [2]
In the 1966 elections Armour won the House of Assembly seat for Roseau South. [2] In March 1967 he was appointed as minister of communications and works in the cabinet of Edward Oliver LeBlanc. [1]
In the 1970 elections Armour won the seat for South Roseau. [3] He was then appointed as Deputy Premier by Edward Oliver LeBlanc [2] [4] from 1970 to July 1974. He was also Minister of Finance from 1970 to 13 July 1973,when he resigned from the cabinet under pressure from Patrick John. [2] In July 1974 Armour run to succeed Edward Oliver LeBlanc as the leader of Dominica Labour Party,but lost to Patrick John. [5] [2]
Armour lost his seat in the House of Assembly in the 1975 elections [6] when he run under the banner of Progressive Labour Party against DLP's Eustace Hazelwood Francis,who was a Patrick John's ally. [2] That election ended his political career. [2] He then practiced law in Portsmouth.[ citation needed ]
He died on 6 August 2017 or 7 August 2017. [2] [1] He was Jenner Armour's brother. [5]

After mass protest forced him to resign,John unsuccessfully attempted in 1981 to overthrow the government of Prime Minister Eugenia Charles with the backing of white supremacist groups. As a result,he was jailed for twelve years,of which he served five years.
Edward Oliver LeBlanc was a Dominican politician who served as the chief minister from January 1961 to 1 March 1967 and as the first premier from 1 March 1967 to 27 July 1974. Born in Vieille Case,a village in the north of the island,LeBlanc attended the local school and studied agriculture at the Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture in Trinidad. He worked in the civil service and became a member of the Dominica Trade Union. An early member of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP),he served as a representative in the country's Legislative Council representing the constituency of Portsmouth between 1957 and 1958,and as a representative of Dominica in the Federal Parliament of the West Indies Federation upon its foundation in 1958. LeBlanc left the federation in 1960 to run for election to the national legislature.
