The ASEAN Football Federation Championship, currently known as the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the primary football tournament organized by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) for men's national teams in Southeast Asia.
The 1996 AFC Asian Cup was the 11th edition of the men's AFC Asian Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The finals were held in the United Arab Emirates between 4 and 21 December 1996. Saudi Arabia defeated hosts United Arab Emirates in the final match in Abu Dhabi. As the runners-up, the United Arab Emirates represented the AFC in the 1997 FIFA Confederations Cup as the winners Saudi Arabia had qualified automatically as host.
The Indonesia national football team represents Indonesia in international football. They were the first Asian team to participate in the FIFA World Cup, particularly in the 1938 edition as the Dutch East Indies. The 6–0 loss to eventual finalists Hungary in the first round remains the nation's only appearance in the World Cup. Thus, Indonesia holds the World Cup record as the team with the fewest matches played (1) and one of the teams with the fewest goals scored (0).
The Bahrain national football team represents Bahrain in international football and is controlled by the Bahrain Football Association, which was founded in 1951 and joined FIFA in 1966. They have never reached the World Cup, but have twice come within one match of doing so. Bahrain won the FIFA's most improved team award in 2004, and finished fourth in the 2004 Asian Cup, beating Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals but losing to Japan in the semi-finals 4–3. Bahrain then lost to Iran in the third-place match, thus finishing in fourth place overall. Bahrain had a golden year in 2019, winning both the WAFF Championship and the Arabian Gulf Cup for the first time, under the stewardship of Hélio Sousa.

In Asian Cup 2000 Asian people mention him "Fabian Barthez Asia", in this event Indonesia had one draw and two losses in the first round, drew 0-0 with Kuwait, loss 0-4 from China PR and loss 0-3 from South Korea. In Asian Cup 2004 he was chosen as a Man of The Match for Indonesia against Qatar, Indonesia won 2-1. He has 60 caps in the national team since his debut in 1996 and became one of football players in his country with the most appearances in the national team. Since 2007, he has not been chosen again as the number one goalkeeper in the national team.
The 1995–96 Liga Indonesia Premier Division was the second season of the Liga Indonesia Premier Division, the top division of Indonesian football. The season began on 26 November 1995 and ended on 6 October 1996. Bandung Raya won the title after beating PSM 2–0 in the final.
