Roosevelt High School is a public school in the Natrona County School District in Casper, Wyoming, United States. It is an alternative high school that provides small classes, credit recovery, and college courses for students in grades nine through twelve. About 200 students attend the school. [1] [2] [3] [4]

History

The school was originally built in 1922 and named "North Casper School", later being renamed Roosevelt School in honor of Theodore Roosevelt. It was later converted into an alternative high school. That building, Roosevelt School (Casper, Wyoming), is now a historic building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The high school moved into a new building in 2016. [8] [9]

The Wyoming School for the Deaf was a school for deaf elementary students located in Casper, Wyoming, United States. The school was open from 1961 until it was closed due to a lack of students in 2000. The school was created to accommodate the concerns of parents who did not want to send their deaf children to schools in other states. Early pilot programs were conducted, and in 1959, a house was purchased across from the local Pineview Elementary School and used to house the program. In 1961, the state legislature appropriated more funds for the program and a permanent school was built and dedicated in 1963.

It is zoned for students in the city of Casper and the towns of Midwest and Edgerton. It participates in Division 1A sports in the Wyoming High School Activities Association.

A general election was held in the U.S. state of Wyoming on Tuesday, November 5, 1946. All of the state's executive officers—the governor, secretary of state, auditor, treasurer, and superintendent of public instruction—were up for election. The election was largely a rout for the Republican Party. Though Democratic governor Lester C. Hunt was narrowly re-elected, Democrats lost their two other state offices: auditor and secretary of State. Moreover, they were unable to win back any other state offices.

Patricia Jo Nagel was an editor, lawyer, consultant and state legislator in Wyoming. A Republican, she lived in Casper, Wyoming and represented Natrona County in the Wyoming House of Representatives in 1993 and 1995 continuing in office until 2002. She had a husband Bob and teo daughters.
