Rory Pitman (born 6 October 1989) is a Welsh rugby union footballer for the Jersey Reds.

Pitman played rugby league for the South Wales Scorpions in the Championship 1 as a second row, making one appearance for them in 2012.

Pitman joined the Welsh rugby union region the Ospreys but he was released by the Ospreys in July 2012. [1]

On 6 June 2014, it was confirmed that Pitman would be joining the Welsh rugby region Scarlets for the 2014/15 season. [2] In his Scarlets competitive début, he scored two tries and was awarded man of the match against Ulster. In November 2018, Pitman signed for Doncaster Knights on a short term deal, this leaving Cardiff RFC and Bridgend Sunday Football team Seagull FC.

A scrum-half, Davies began his professional rugby career with the Llanelli Scarlets, and made his league debut for the Scarlets while still in the region's development squad, playing against Cardiff Blues on 14 September 2005. He made a further nine appearances in the 2005–06 season, scoring a try against Glasgow Warriors on 16 October 2005. In March 2006, Davies was promoted to the Scarlets' first team squad, signing on a professional development contract.

Judgement Day is an annual Welsh Rugby Union event that takes place at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and is part of the Pro14 competition. The four regions – Cardiff Blues, Dragons, Ospreys and Scarlets – join with the Welsh Rugby Union in organising a double-header fixture at the Millennium Stadium. The annual derby day clash will be repeated for the foreseeable future with the two east Wales regions taking on the two west Wales regions. In 2020, the two matches were held on consecutive days at Rodney Parade due to the COVID-19 pandemic causing a change to the format of the 2019–20 season and the Millennium Stadium being unavailable due to it being used as the Dragon's Heart Hospital.

The 2014–15 season was the 12th in the history of the Scarlets Welsh regional rugby union side, in which they competed in the Pro12, the European Rugby Champions Cup and the Anglo-Welsh Cup. It was head coach Wayne Pivac's first season in charge of the region, after Simon Easterby left the Scarlets to become Ireland's forwards coach. In addition to Pivac, Byron Hayward joined the region as a defence coach, while Danny Wilson left for Bristol. In September 2014, Mark Davies stepped down as chief executive to take up a role with Pro Rugby Wales, and was replaced by Darran Phillips.
