Jordi Bolòs i Masclans is Professor of Medieval History at the University of Lleida. Rural Catalan history, urban history and the landscape history has focussed his research in the study of the medieval society. He has published several historical atlases of the Carolingian counties of Besalú, Empúries-Peralada, Girona, Osona, Manresa, Urgell and Roussillon, Conflent, Vallespir and Fenouillèdes. Initially part of the coalition Catalunya en Comú–Podem, she was the spokesperson for its parliamentary group from 18 January to 29 October 2018. In October 2018, she promoted the platform Sobiranistes (Sovereigntists) as a criticism of the leadership of En Comú Podem. In February 2019 she left the parliamentary group but kept her seat. On 24 February 2019, she announced the creation of the party Nova.

Mariàngela Vilallonga Vives has been a professor of Latin philology at the University of Girona between 1977 and 2022. Between 2017 and 2019 she was second vice-president of the Institute of Catalan Studies, an institution where she held several senior positions. On 25 March 2019 she became the minister of culture in the Quim Torra Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Her term as minister of culture ended on 3 September 2020.
The Exploradores Barceloneses was the first scouting initiative in Spain, the local version of Robert Baden-Powell's Boy Scouts founded in 1911 by cavalry captain Pedro Roselló Axet. It was a pro-Spanish institution that was also in favor of decentralization. This initiative was successful thanks to the collaboration of teachers from various private schools.
