Rosedale, Colorado is a former municipality in Weld County, Colorado, United States, now a part of the City of Greeley.
Weld County is one of the 64 counties of the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2010 census, the population was 252,825. The county seat is Greeley.

Rosedale was founded and incorporated in 1939 to allow the establishment of saloons, bars, and liquor stores to serve the Greeley community; Greeley, established as part of the Union Temperance Colony, was dry. Located on the south side of Greeley and southwest of Colorado State College of Education (today the University of Northern Colorado), the town together with its sister town, Garden City provided a watering hole for the teachers-in-training and faculty of the college and the rest of the population of Greeley. [1] Its nickname through the 1970s (Greeley became wet in 1972) was "Boozeville."
The Union Colony of Colorado was a 19th-century private enterprise formed to promote agricultural settlements in the South Platte River valley in the Colorado Territory. Organization of the colony began in October 1869 by Nathan Meeker in order to establish a religiously oriented utopian community of "high moral standards". The colony was founded in March 1870 at the site of present-day Greeley, Colorado. Union Colony was financially backed and promoted by New York Tribune editor, Horace Greeley, a prominent advocate of the settlement of the American West. The homesteaded colony greatly advanced irrigation usage in present-day northern Colorado, demonstrating the viability of cultivation at a time when agriculture was emerging as a rival to mining as the principal basis for the territorial economy.
The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) is a public research university in Greeley, Colorado. The university was founded in 1889 as the State Normal School of Colorado and has a long history in teacher education. Approximately 12,000 students are enrolled in six colleges. Extended campus locations in are in Loveland, Denver, and Colorado Springs. UNC’s 19 athletic teams compete in NCAA Division I athletics.
The Town of Garden City is a Statutory Town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 357 at the 2000 census. With an area of less than one square mile, it is surrounded by the cities of Greeley, Colorado and Evans, Colorado.
Today the name is remembered primarily through the name of its original "family" shopping center on 11th Avenue on the south edge of Greeley and just north of the separate city of Evans.
