Roshon Gittens (born 5 February 2002) is a Barbadian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ellerton FC of the Barbados Premier League, and the Barbados national team. [1]
Gittens started off his career with Notre Dame SC before moving on to Ellerton FC in 2018. [1] In April 2019 Gittens went on trial with FC DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda of the Slovakian Super Liga. [2] In November 2020 he was scheduled to participate in trials in Europe again but was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. [3]
Gittens represented Barbados at the youth level at the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship and the 2019 CONCACAF U-17 Championship. He captained his side at the 2018 tournament. [4] [5]
Gittens made his debut for the senior national team on 30 September 2018 in a friendly against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the age of 16. He was next called up to the senior squad for a friendly against Turks and Caicos on 19 March 2021. [1] He went on to score his first senior international goal in the match, an eventual 2–0 victory. [6] Two month later he was part of the Barbados squad for 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification [7] but missed the matches through injury. [8]

The Barbados national football team, nicknamed Bajan Tridents, is the national football team of Barbados, and is controlled by the Barbados Football Association. It has never qualified for a major international tournament. It came close to qualifying for the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup as it hosted the Caribbean Cup finals that acted as Gold Cup qualifiers, but finished fourth of the four teams. In 2001, it surprised many by making the semi-final round of the 2002 World Cup Qualifiers. In the first game of this round, they pulled off a shock 2–1 win over Costa Rica, but lost their five remaining games. In 2004, Barbados gained a shock 1–1 draw at home to Northern Ireland.
The Saint Kitts and Nevis national football team is the national team of Saint Kitts and Nevis and is controlled by the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association. They are affiliated to the Caribbean Football Union of CONCACAF. The team has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup but qualified for their first ever CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2023.
