[3] He was part of Ulster's sub-academy system until he joined the province's academy ahead of the 2015–16 season, while playing club rugby with Ballymena R.F.C.. [4]

He made his senior debut for Ulster in 2016 against Newport Gwent Dragons, [5] making ten appearances, including three starts, in the 2016–17 season, [1] and was named Academy Player of the Year in the 2017 Ulster Rugby Awards.
