Robert McCredie May, Baron May of Oxford, HonFAIB was an Australian scientist who was Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK Government, President of the Royal Society, and a professor at the University of Sydney and Princeton University. He held joint professorships at the University of Oxford and Imperial College London. He was also a crossbench member of the House of Lords from 2001 until his retirement in 2017.

Turner was Foundation Professor of Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Research School of Earth Sciences, Australian National University 1975–1995.
Eugene Seneta is Professor Emeritus, School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Sydney, known for his work in probability and non-negative matrices, applications and history. He is known for the variance gamma model in financial mathematics. He was Professor, School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney from 1979 until retirement, and an Elected Fellow since 1985 of the Australian Academy of Science. In 2007 Seneta was awarded the Hannan Medal in Statistical Science by the Australian Academy of Science, for his seminal work in probability and statistics; for his work connected with branching processes, history of probability and statistics, and many other areas.

Anthony Steven Weiss PhD AM FRSC FTSE FRSN FRACI, FTERM, FBSE is a university researcher, company founder and entrepreneur. He is the leading scientist in human tropoelastin research and synthetic human elastin. He holds the McCaughey Chair in Biochemistry, heads the Charles Perkins Centre Node in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, and is Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Sydney. His discoveries are on human elastic materials that accelerate the healing and repair of arteries, skin and 3D human tissue components. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Weiss is on the editorial boards of the American Chemical Society Biomaterials Science and Engineering, Applied Materials Today (Elsevier), Biomaterials, Biomedical Materials, BioNanoScience (Springer) and Tissue Engineering. He is a biotechnology company founder, promoter of national and international technology development, and has received national and international awards, including the Order of Australia.
Kenton Stewart Wall Campbell, known as Ken Campbell, was an Australian palaeontologist and academic. Campbell was born in Ipswich, Queensland. He was the son of two store clerks who moved their family to Boonah during the Great Depression. He attended primary school in Ipswich, Boonah and Coorparoo. After winning a scholarship to attend Brisbane Grammar School in 1940, Campbell went on to university. In 1945, Campbell entered his second year of his study, attending lectures given by Dr Dorothy Hill, who had returned from World War II service in the WRANS. Her academic rigour inspired him. He took his B.Sc. with Honours from the University of Queensland in 1949 on her advice, followed by his M.Sc. in 1951 and PhD in 1958. His research was in Permian brachiopods of the Bowen and adjacent basins.
David Roderick Curtis AC MB BS PhD FRACP FAA FRS was an Australian pharmacologist and neurobiologist.
Brian Leslie Norman Kennett is a mathematical physicist and seismologist. He is now a professor emeritus at the Australian National University.
