Rotherham Town F.C. was an English football club from Rotherham, Yorkshire. They merged with rivals Rotherham County in 1925 to form Rotherham United.

Rotherham Town F.C. was an English football club from Rotherham, Yorkshire. They merged with rivals Rotherham County in 1925 to form Rotherham United.
In 1899, Rotherham Casuals and Rotherham Grammar School combined to form Rotherham F.C. [1] On becoming a limited company in 1904 a new name of Rotherham Athletic was adopted, and a year later they changed their name again, to Rotherham Town (which had been the name of a former Football League club from the town).
In 1903 the new club joined the Midland League, [2] where they remained until 1925, when they merged with their Third Division North neighbours Rotherham County to form Rotherham United.

The history of Rotherham United F.C. traces its roots back to 1870. The club originated as Thornhill Football Club in 1870. Rotherham United was eventually formed 55 years later, in 1925.

John Nicholson (1864–1932) was club secretary for Sheffield United for over 30 years. During this period the club did not employ a 'manager' but Nicholson undertook many of the duties currently associated with a modern-day football manager.
The 1889–90 season was the first in existence for Sheffield United. Having not been elected to any organised league at that point they predominantly played friendly fixtures but did enter the FA Cup for the first time as well as locally arranged cup competitions The Sheffield Challenge Cup and the Wharncliffe Charity Cup. The club did not employ a manager in this period; tactics and team selection were decided by The Football Committee and the players were coached by a trainer. J.B. Wostinholm held the position of club secretary, dealing with player transfers and contracts, arranging matches and dealing with the FA. The first season was deemed a reasonable success with steady attendances to home games and progress in the FA Cup although the fluctuating nature of the team meant that consistency was never really achieved.

William "Joe" Raby was an English footballer who scored 44 goals from 156 appearances in the Football League playing for Lincoln City, Gainsborough Trinity, Stockport County and Doncaster Rovers. He played as an inside forward. He also played in the Midland League for Gainsborough and Wellingborough, and in the Southern League for Tottenham Hotspur.
South Kirkby Colliery Football Club is a football club based in South Kirkby, West Yorkshire, England.
