Roy Julen (born May, 1986) is a Dutch tap dancer, actor, and choreographer of Surinamese origin.
Roy Julen is a well reputed choreographer with many credits on distinguished productions in the entertainment industry. He has been the executive Choreographer and creative producer for more than 8 years on Dutch and Belgian television show So You Think You Can Dance, [1] The Voice, The ultimate dance battle, Dance Date and The Band as well as the choreographer of the acclaimed American hitmusical Flashdance for Joop van den Ende Theatre productions. Julen has choreographed live events, music videos, and television productions as well for many world famous pop artists, including Diana Ross, Jason DeRulo, Taio Cruz, Pixie Lott, and Stromae, to name a few.[ citation needed ] Besides being a choreographer, Roy created his own successful dance movie "Body language, which was awarded with a Dutch Golden Film Award and was shown in movie theaters in The Netherlands as well as internationally in seven countries.[ citation needed ] As an individual with significant experience and achievement in the fields of choreography, film, Tv and events Julen is considered by other professionals in the industry to be an accomplished expert in these areas.
Flashdance is a 1983 American romantic drama dance film directed by Adrian Lyne and starring Jennifer Beals as a passionate young dancer who aspires to become a professional ballerina (Alex), alongside Michael Nouri playing her boyfriend and the owner of the steel mill where she works by day in Pittsburgh. It was the first collaboration of producers Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer, and the presentation of some sequences in the style of music videos was an influence on other 1980s films including Footloose, Purple Rain, and Top Gun, Simpson and Bruckheimer's most famous production. It was also one of Lyne's first major film releases, building on television commercials. Alex's elaborate dance sequences were shot using body doubles.

"Flashdance... What a Feeling" is a song from the 1983 film Flashdance with music by Giorgio Moroder and lyrics by Keith Forsey and the song's performer, Irene Cara. Moroder had been asked to score the film, and Cara and Forsey wrote most of the lyrics after they were shown the last scene from it in which the main character dances at an audition for a group of judges. They felt that the dancer's ambition to succeed could act as a metaphor for achieving any dream a person has and wrote lyrics that described what it feels like when music inspires someone to dance. The song wound up being used for the scene they watched as well as during the opening credits as the main character is shown working as a welder.
Nigel Lythgoe OBE, also known as Nasty Nigel, is an English television and film director and producer, television dance competition judge, former dancer in the Young Generation and choreographer. He was the producer of the shows Pop Idol and American Idol and is the creator and executive producer of So You Think You Can Dance, on which he served as a permanent judge for the first sixteen seasons. He also created the 2009 competition Superstars of Dance.
Adam Michael Shankman is an American film director, producer, writer, dancer, author, actor, and choreographer. He was a permanent judge on seasons 6–7 of the television program So You Think You Can Dance. He began his professional career in musical theater, and was a dancer in music videos for Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson. Shankman has choreographed dozens of films and directed several feature-length films, including A Walk to Remember, Bringing Down the House, The Pacifier, and the musicals Hairspray and Disenchanted.
Daniel Quinn Karaty is an American TV personality, actor, producer, dancer and choreographer. He has performed with and/or created routines for pop superstars such as Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and *NSYNC. Karaty is also well known as a judge and choreographer on several versions of the global dance competition program So You Think You Can Dance, including the American, Australian, Canadian versions and as a permanent member of the judge's panel for the Dutch-Belgian version since its first season. In 2005 she choreographed Cirque du Soleil's world tour Delirium and Celine Dion's A New Day..., for which she received an Emmy Award nomination. Flashdance: Original Soundtrack from the Motion Picture is the soundtrack to the 1983 film Flashdance, which tells the story of Alex Owens, a welder and exotic dancer who dreams of becoming a professional ballerina. The nightclub performances by Alex and her co-workers and other set pieces involving training and auditioning provided opportunities to present the songs that would make up the soundtrack album. The film's music supervisor, Phil Ramone, made selections that he felt were the best fit for their respective scenes, and composer Giorgio Moroder contributed additional tracks in the process of scoring the film. One of his contributions, "Flashdance...What a Feeling" by Irene Cara, was released as a single in March 1983, weeks before the film's April 15 release, and eventually spent six weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

She has been a principal dancer for Katy Perry, and was a lead cast member on E! reality docu-drama The Dance Scene. The second season of So You Think You Can Dance in the Benelux aired in fall of 2009. It followed an initial production in the Netherlands in 2008, with the second season now expanding in scope to include Belgium. Dutch channel RTL4 continued to broadcast the show in the Netherlands, while Belgian station VTM was the Flemish broadcaster. With the departure of the first season's host, singer EliZe, the presentation duties for the show fell to new co-hosts An Lemmens and Dennis Weening, who have remained with the production for its subsequent three seasons. The second season premiered on September 1, 2009 and concluded eight weeks later on November 29, with Belgian Els Smekens announced winner in a live finale. Smekens won a choice of dance school opportunities in the U.S., a cash prize of €20,000, and a dance solo in the musical Hairspray.
The third season of So You Think You Can Dance, a televised Dutch-Belgian dance competition show, based on an American show by the same name, premiered on August 29, 2010. Dan Karaty, Jan Kooijman, and Euvgenia Parakhina reprised their roles on the judging roles with newcomer Marco Gerris joining the panel as well. Dennis Weening and An Lemmens continued to co-host the program.

Judges Dan Karaty, Euvgenia Parakhina and Jan Kooijman all returned as permanent members of the judge's panel. Departing judge Marco Gerrits was replaced by choreographer Ish Ait Hamou. An Lemmens and Dennis Weening returned in their roles as co-hosts. On December 9, hip-hop dancer Frederic de Smet was announced as the winner of the competition and awarded a choice of dance school scholarship and €25,000.
Tabitha A. D'umo and Napoleon Buddy D'umo, known together as Nappytabs, are Emmy Award-winning married choreographers. They are best known for their choreography on the television show So You Think You Can Dance and for being supervising choreographers and executive producers of America's Best Dance Crew. Since being with the former, their choreography has received both praise and criticism. They own Nappytabs urban dancewear and have been working in the dance industry since 1996.
The sixth season of So You Think You Can Dance, a Belgian-Dutch televised dance competition based on the American show by the same name, aired in late 2013 and concluded on December 1 with modern dancer Danny Boom as the winner. The judge's panel for this seasons was composed, for the second year running, of Dan Karaty, Euvgenia Parakhina, Jan Kooijman and Ish Ait Hamou and the shows hosting duties fell again to Dennis Weening and An Lemmens, in their fifth consecutive year as co-presenters. For this season, the "boot camp" portion of the finalist selection process was held in Seville, Spain.
