Roy Mlakar (born September 10, 1950 in Parma, Ohio) is the former president and CEO of the Ottawa Senators professional ice hockey club of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Scotiabank Place arena. He was also the alternate governor of the Senators. [1] He is a former executive with the Los Angeles Kings.
Mlakar is married. He and wife Tamera each have two daughters. Mlakar was director with various charities in Ottawa, including the Sens Foundation, the Candlelighters and the Ottawa Senators 65 Roses Sports Club. He was also a director with the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame. He has received several awards for his community work, including the Brian Kilrea Award in 2005 and the United Way Community Builder Award in 2006. [1]
Mlakar was hired by the Providence Reds of the AHL in 1973. He served as director of public relations and was later promoted to the position of assistant general manager working with then Providence GM John Muckler.
In 1978 Mlakar joined the New Haven Nighthawks the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings. He spent 11 seasons with the team, winning the James C. Hendy Memorial Award as the AHL's Executive of the Year in 1985.
Mlakar joined the Los Angeles Kings in 1988. He spent 7 seasons with the team, five as an executive vice-president and two as club president. He was instrumental in bringing Wayne Gretzky to the Kings from the Edmonton Oilers. The Kings made it to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1993 under his leadership. During his tenure with Los Angeles, the Kings set a California professional sports record with 282 consecutive sellouts.
Following his stint with the Kings, Mlakar served as chief operating officer for the Pittsburgh Penguins for two seasons before joining the Senators
Mlakar was appointed president and chief executive officer of the Ottawa Senators on June 3, 1996. He took on responsibilities for Scotiabank Place in May 1998. In 2007, the Senators made it to the Stanley Cup Finals where they played the Anaheim Ducks, eventually losing in 5 games. At the end of the 2008-2009 regular season, having concluded a disappointing season in which the team missed the playoffs, the team announced on June 16, 2009 that Mlakar would be relieved of his duties upon the expiration of his contract on June 30, 2009.
Wade Redden is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and a development coach of the Ottawa Senators, with whom he spent the majority of his career in the National Hockey League (NHL), which lasted from 1996 to 2013. He also played for the New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins. He played for the Canadian national team internationally seven times, winning two gold medals in the World Junior Championships and one in the World Cup of Hockey. He was a two-time NHL All-Star.
Robert Bowlby Blake is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive and former player. He is the current general manager of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was originally drafted by the Kings in 1988, appearing in the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals, winning the James Norris Memorial Trophy and serving as team captain for five seasons in his initial 11-season stint with the club. In 2001, Blake was traded to the Colorado Avalanche and was a member of their 2001 Stanley Cup championship team. It was his only Stanley Cup as a player, though he won the Cup again as a member of the Kings' front office in 2014. After a two-season return to Los Angeles, Blake signed with the San Jose Sharks in 2008, retiring as its captain after the 2009–10 season. Four years later, in 2014, Blake was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Bryan Clarence Murray was a Canadian professional ice hockey executive and coach. He served as general manager of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL) from 2007 to 2016. He had previously been general manager of the NHL's Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Florida Panthers, and Detroit Red Wings. He was also the head coach for the Washington Capitals, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, and Ottawa Senators, for a total of 17 full or partial seasons.
Lawrence Emmett Regan, was a Canadian professional ice hockey player and hockey executive. He played for the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs after a long senior-hockey career, winning the Allan Cup in 1948. He later managed and coached the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL and was president of the NHL Alumni Association.
Daniel Brian Bylsma is an American professional ice hockey coach and former player. He is the head coach of the Coachella Valley Firebirds of the American Hockey League (AHL). He was previously head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League (NHL), and was also an assistant coach for the Detroit Red Wings. He also was the former head coach of the United States men's national ice hockey team. Prior to coaching the Sabres, Bylsma was the head coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins, whom he led to a Stanley Cup championship in 2009, just four months after being promoted to Pittsburgh's head coaching position.
Robert Shane Ryan is an American former professional ice hockey winger. He played for the Anaheim Ducks, Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted second overall by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Glenn Healy is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played for 15 years in the National Hockey League (NHL). Prior to that, he was a member of the Western Michigan University ice hockey team, and 1985 graduate of the school. He also served as the director of player affairs for the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA). He resigned on September 3, 2009, in the wake of the firing of NHLPA executive director Paul Kelly. In his capacity as director of player affairs, Healy also served as a non-voting member on the NHL Competition Committee, overseeing the NHLPA's interests regarding rule and equipment issues and player safety matters. He serves as the executive director/president of the NHL Alumni Association.
Adam Mair is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Los Angeles Kings, Buffalo Sabres and the New Jersey Devils. He is currently a player development coach for the Buffalo Sabres.

Sean O'Donnell is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Drafted 123rd overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft, O'Donnell has played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Phoenix Coyotes, Anaheim Ducks, Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Blackhawks. He won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Ducks in 2007.
Dustin Penner is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Anaheim Ducks, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings and Washington Capitals. Undrafted by any NHL team, in 2004, Penner signed with Anaheim after playing college hockey at the University of Maine in the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). Penner won the Stanley Cup in his first full season with Anaheim in 2007, before adding a second Stanley Cup in his first full season with Los Angeles in 2012.

During his career, he played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Los Angeles Kings, Calgary Flames, Avangard Omsk, Växjö Lakers and Nitra. Versteeg is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010 and 2015.
Davis Anthony Drewiske is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Los Angeles Kings and Montreal Canadiens.
The 1991 outdoor National Hockey League (NHL) game in Las Vegas was an exhibition pre-season game between the New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings that took place on September 27, 1991, on an outside rink built over the parking lot of the Caesars Palace hotel and casino. This was the first official outdoor NHL game, and was part of the pre-season schedule for the 1991–92 NHL season for both teams.
Jordan Szwarz is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with Adler Mannheim in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Szwarz was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He later joined the Boston Bruins organization, before joining the Ottawa Senators as a free agent in July 2019.
