Air Vice Marshal Marasinhage Ruchira Kalhara Samarasinghe Purna Bhumi Padakkama, BSc was a Director Civil Engineering for the Sri Lanka Air Force. [1] [2]

Early life

Samarasinghe was born in 1968 and after completing secondary education at Nalanda College, Colombo joined General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University as an Officer cadet.

Career

In 1992 Samarasinghe was commissioned in Air Field Construction Branch as a Pilot officer. He graduated with a BSc in Civil Engineering (Defence Studies) from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.

Samarasinghe is a recipient of service medals such as Purna Bhumi Padakkama, Long Services Medal and Clasp, Riviresa Campaign Services Medal, Northern Humanitarian Operations Medal, Eastern Humanitarian Operations Medal, 50th Independence Anniversary Medal, SLAF 50th Anniversary Medal.

His career included a wide range of key appointments at sea and ashore, including training in the United Kingdom, India and the United States.

He is the current Deputy Superintendent of the SLN Dockyard and former Deputy Director Naval Projects and Plans as well as the Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.

Admiral Jayanath Colombage, RSP, VSV, USP, FNI is a Sri Lankan flag officer and diplomat. He was the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until 2022, prior to which he served as Additional Secretary to the President for foreign relations. A career naval officer, he had served as the Commander of the Sri Lankan Navy, the professional head of the navy from September 2012 to June 2014.

Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, RSP and Bar, VSV, USP is a retired Sri Lankan senior naval officer. He served as 24th Commander of the Navy of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Lieutenant General H.L.V.M. Liyanage, popularly known as Vikum Liyanage, is a senior Sri Lanka Army officer. He is the current Commander of the Sri Lanka Army. Prior to become the army commander, he was the 59th Chief of Staff of the Army. On 1 July 2022, Liyanage assumed as 24th Commander of Sri Lankan Army. Earlier, he served as the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force as a Major General.
