Rundu Rural East is an electoral constituency in the Kavango East Region of Namibia. It is located east of Rundu, one of Namibia's largest cities.

Each of the 14 regions in Namibia is further subdivided into electoral constituencies. The size of the constituencies varies with the size and population of each region. There are currently 121 constituencies in Namibia. The most populous constituency is Walvis Bay Urban; the least populous is Walvis Bay Rural, both in the Erongo region.

Kavango East Region in Namibia

Kavango East is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia. Its capital is Rundu. Because of its rather higher rainfall than most other parts of Namibia, this region has agricultural potential for the cultivation of a variety of crops, as well as for organised forestry and agro-forestry, which stimulates furniture making and related industries.

The constituency contains the villages of Cuma and Kaisosi. Both villages are connected by a 60 kilometres (37 mi) gravel road which was completed in 2013. [1]

Kaisosi Settlement in Kavango East, Namibia

Kaisosi is a settlement in the Kavango East region of north-eastern Namibia, situated about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) outside Rundu. It is located between the Trans-Caprivi highway and the Maria Mwengere gravel road. Kaisosi is divided into two parts, Kaisosi the first which is about 1 km from Rundu university campus and Kaisosi the second which is about 1.5 km from Rundu campus. There are two schools in Kaisosi, Sarusungu Combined School and Kaisosi Primary School. Kaisosi clinic and police station are located next to each other in the Kaisosi the second along the Gravel road few meters from Sarusungu Combined School.

Kasote and Sauyemwa are settlements in the constituency. Sauyemwea is an informal settlement located 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from Rundu, and Kasote is 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) away from Rundu, both towards the west. Most of the residents of the constituency live in informal housing, which includes housing made of bricks or corrugated iron.
