Running Fitness is a globally circulated monthly magazine for recreational runners, published by Kelsey Media in Peterborough, [1] in the United Kingdom.

Contents

History

It was established in 1985. [2] EMAP sold the title to Kelsey Media in 2006. [3] The headquarters of the magazine later moved to Kent. [2]

In addition to the printed magazine, the magazine's web sites have provided a valuable resource for runners, including thorough running race event calendars.

William Mervin Mills, also known as Tamakoce Te'Hila, is an Oglala Lakota former track and field athlete who won a gold medal in the 10,000 metre run (6.2 mi) at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. His 1964 victory is considered one of the greatest Olympic upsets because he was a virtual unknown going into the event. He was the first non-European to win the Olympic event and remains the only winner from the Americas. A United States Marine, Mills is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.

The Miss Oklahoma competition selects a winner to compete on behalf of Oklahoma in the Miss America pageant. Miss Oklahoma has won the Miss America crown on five occasions. Also, in the years when city representatives were common, Norma Smallwood won, competing as Miss Tulsa, giving the state of Oklahoma a total of six crowns. A movie called A Long Run covers the event. He was the founder of Runner's World magazine. A desire to find information about running and racing led him to a career in magazine and book publishing for more than twenty years.

Triathlon Plus is a monthly triathlon magazine published in the UK by Kelsey Media. Launched in May 2009 by Future plc, it contains news, features, coaching tips and buyers guides. According to the magazine's web site, the editor is Elizabeth Hufton. However, the pre-launch news story in The Guardian said that the editor would be "Mat Brett, former editor of Mountain Biking UK and Cycling Plus". In 2014, Future sold its auto titles and Triathlon Plus to Kelsey Media.

The Great Outdoors is a British monthly consumer magazine focused on hillwalking and backpacking, first published in 1978. It was edited for many years by Cameron McNeish. Chris Townsend, Jim Perrin, David Lintern and Alex Roddie are among many regular and long-term contributors to the magazine. The current editor is Carey Davies, and the online editor is Hanna Lindon.

Women's Running, formerly Her Sports + Fitness is a magazine geared towards female running enthusiasts. Published 6 times yearly by Outside, it is the only women's-specific running magazine available in the North American market. According to the publisher it was created "to serve a rapidly growing community of female runners."

Men's Fitness (UK) is a monthly men's magazine specialising in health and fitness and published by Kelsey Media in the UK and Ireland. It was started in 2001.

Altra Running, commonly known as Altra, is an American manufacturing company engaged in the design, development, marketing, and sales of athletic shoes for road running, trail running, and general footwear. Altra has been ranked in the top 10 brands in “run specialty” and number 4 for trail running.

Robin Amelia Arzón is an American ultramarathon runner and author of the book Shut Up and Run. She is also the VP of Fitness Programming and an Instructor at Peloton.

Kelsey Media is a magazine publisher and trade fair company based in Yalding, England. Founded in 1989, it has bought and sold many publications over the years, including former Bauer Media Group magazines Sea Angler, Car Mechanics and Your Horse in July 2020.

<i>Ali on the Run</i> Fitness podcast

Ali on the Run is a fitness podcast hosted by race announcer, blogger and former journalist Ali Feller. Over the podcast's more than five hundred episodes, Feller's subjects have ranged from everyday runners to Olympic marathoners, and she talks about issues that face the entire running community. The podcast is amongst the top running podcasts and is ranked as the #1 running podcast by Chartable. Feller lives in New Hampshire, but began her podcast in 2017 while living in New Jersey, following a career writing for a number of fitness and dance publications.
