Pith, or medulla, is a tissue in the stems of vascular plants. Pith is composed of soft, spongy parenchyma cells, which store and transport nutrients throughout the plant. In eudicotyledons, pith is located in the center of the stem. In monocotyledons, it extends also into flowering stems and roots. The pith is encircled by a ring of xylem; the xylem, in turn, is encircled by a ring of phloem.
Juncaceae is a family of flowering plants, commonly known as the rush family. It consists of 8 genera and about 464 known species of slow-growing, rhizomatous, herbaceous monocotyledonous plants that may superficially resemble grasses and sedges. They often grow on infertile soils in a wide range of moisture conditions. The best-known and largest genus is Juncus. Most of the Juncus species grow exclusively in wetland habitats. A few rushes, such as Juncus bufonius are annuals, but most are perennials.

The CIA invert is a one-dollar value postage stamp error issued by the United States Postal Service. It is one stamp from the Americana series that were produced between 1975 and 1981. The $1 colonial rushlight holder stamp was first issued on July 2, 1979 and one pane of 100 stamps was issued with the dark brown inverted. The lamp candle holder, candle outline and text are inverted relative to the flame. About 95 copies have been accounted for. The Scott catalogue number is: 1610c. This was the first United States stamp issued with a major design element printed upside down since the Dag Hammarskjöld invert error of 1962. As these $1 stamps were printed in sheets of 400, three additional panes of 100 stamps certainly existed at one time, but no trace of these has been discovered.

A continuous refreshing liquid battery is a liquid battery which consists of only one rechargeable liquid and a technology which can be used for grid storage. This is an interesting concept due to the simplicity, low cost, durability, thermal stability, low carbon footprint, eliminating the need of rare earth minerals for storage and its applicability to transportation systems. The Speciality of this battery is the fact that the internal electrolytes and the catholyte gets refreshed continuously unlike other battery technologies, making the lifetime very long. This storage technology is said to have the lowest carbon footprint per kWh of energy storage medium and the ultimate objective of the inventors is to bring the carbon footprint further down. Department of Business Energy And Industrial Strategy of UK (BEIS) has identified a company which has successfully installed such a prototype in year 2013. According to the BEIS Report this is a novel flow battery technology that is low-cost, long-lasting and easily scalable. Can be used for very long term storage economically and sustainably. It is also described as not using volatile solvents, corrosive liquids, carcinogenic material, rare earth metals or any material or processes which are harmful to nature. In this battery technology, the electrolyte and part of the cathode is converted to continuously refreshing and free flowing liquid, making this a different battery variant. The result is a refreshing polysulfide redox Single Liquid Battery. In addition to low cost, the CRLB has high energy density, millisecond response time and +20 year lifetime. The power and energy are independently scalable giving complete flexibility and high DC-DC efficiency of (96.8%) has been demonstrated by the first demonstrator installed at Inverie on the Knoydart peninsula in Scotland, UK. Technologies such as the CRLB are crucial to fight the present climate crisis.
