Ruth Fahrbach (born November 25,1942) is an American politician who served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 61st district from 1981 to 2009. [1] [2]

Ella Rosa Giovianna Oliva Grasso was an American politician and member of the Democratic Party who served as the 83rd Governor of Connecticut from January 8,1975,to December 31,1980,after rejecting past offers of candidacies for Senate and Governor. She was the first woman elected to this office and the first woman to be elected governor of a U.S. state without having been the spouse or widow of a former governor. She resigned as governor due to her battle with ovarian cancer.
WTIC-TV is a television station in Hartford,Connecticut,United States,serving the Hartford–New Haven market as an affiliate of the Fox network. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside Waterbury-licensed CW affiliate WCCT-TV. Huskies of Honor is a recognition program sponsored by the University of Connecticut (UConn). Similar to a hall of fame,it honors the most significant figures in the history of the UConn Huskies—the university's athletic teams—especially the men's and women's basketball teams. The inaugural honorees,inducted in two separate ceremonies during the 2006–07 season,included thirteen men's basketball players,ten women's basketball players,and four head coaches,of whom two coaches—Jim Calhoun and Geno Auriemma—and two players—Ray Allen and Rebecca Lobo—are also enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Since that time,an additional nine women's basketball players,seven men's basketball players,five national championship teams,one women's basketball assistant coach,and one athletic director have been honored.
Connecticut Children's Medical Center is a nationally ranked,independent,non-profit,pediatric acute care hospital located in Hartford,Connecticut. The hospital has 185 beds and is the primary pediatric teaching affiliate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to pediatric patients aged 0–21 throughout Connecticut and the New England region,but also treats some adults that would be better treated under pediatricians. Connecticut Children's Medical Center also features the only ACS verified level 1 pediatric trauma center in the region,and 1 of 2 in the state. The hospital is also 1 of 2 children's hospital in the state of Connecticut.
On July 23,2007,Steven Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky invaded the residence of the Petit family in Cheshire,Connecticut. Though initially planning only to rob the house,she and Komisarjevsky murdered Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her two daughters,17-year-old Hayley Petit and 11-year-old Michaela Petit. Their father Dr. William Petit escaped with severe injuries.
