Erin Murphy is an American poet who is credited with inventing the demi-sonnet. She received her B.A. in English and Philosophy from Washington College, and an M.F.A. in Poetry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst's MFA Program for Poets & Writers. She is an important figure in the second wave of the literary Native American Renaissance of the late 20th century. She studied at the Institute of American Indian Arts, completed her undergraduate degree at University of New Mexico in 1976, and earned an MFA degree at the University of Iowa in its creative writing program.

Julie Madison Suk is an American prize-winning poet and writer from Charlotte, North Carolina. She is the author of six volumes of poetry - The Medicine Woman, Heartwood, The Angel of Obsession, The Dark Takes Aim, Lie Down With Me, and Astonished To Wake, and co-editor of Bear Crossings: an Anthology of North American Poets. She is included in The Autumn House Anthology of Contemporary American Poetry. Ann Townsend is an American poet and essayist. She is the co-founder of VIDA: Women in the Literary Arts and a professor of English and director of the creative writing at Denison University, She has published three original poetry collections and co-edited a collection of lyric poems.
Geary Hobson is a Cherokee, Quapaw/Chickasaw scholar, editor and writer of fiction and poetry. Hobson, is faculty emeritus at the University of Oklahoma. He received a lifetime achievement award from the Native Writers' Circle of the Americas in 2003.
