Arizona "AZ" Reid III is an American professional basketball player. He was the 2006–07 Big South Conference Player of the Year, 2007–08 Preseason Player of the Year, and the 2007–08 Big South Conference Player of the Year.
The 2008–09 George Mason Patriots men's basketball team began its 43rd season of collegiate play on November 15, 2008, versus the University of Vermont. The players were looking to continue the success from their 2007–2008 season where they won the 2008 Colonial Athletic Association tournament championship game and advanced to the 2008 NCAA men's basketball tournament. The 2008–09 Patriots had a 13–5 regular season record and were runners-up in the 2009 Colonial Athletic Association tournament. The team reached the 2009 National Invitation Tournament, but they lost in overtime to eventual tournament champion Penn State.
The 2011–12 George Mason Patriots men's basketball team represented George Mason University during the 2011–12 college basketball season. This was the 46th season for the program. The Patriots, led by first year head coach Paul Hewitt, are members of the Colonial Athletic Association and played their home games at the Patriot Center. They finished the season 24–9, 14–4 in CAA play. They lost in the semifinals of the 2011 CAA men's basketball tournament to VCU.

He finished his college career at Cal State Bakersfield in the NCAA Division II and started his professional career in 1997 playing in Israel. In 2001 he was the top scorer of the LNB Pro A in France. In 10 years of pro career he played in several countries in Europe and South America. McCants has a daughter, Asia McCants, who played Division 1 basketball at Howard University.
