Llwynypia is a village and community in Rhondda Cynon Taf,Wales,near Tonypandy in the Rhondda Fawr Valley. Before 1850 a lightly populated rural farming area,Llwynypia experienced a population boom between 1860 and 1920 with the sinking of several coal mines after the discovery of large coal deposits throughout the Rhondda Valleys.
Vernon Phillips Watkins was a Welsh poet and translator. He was a close friend of fellow poet Dylan Thomas,who described him as "the most profound and greatly accomplished Welshman writing poems in English".

Steven Llewellyn Watkin is a former Welsh cricketer who played for Glamorgan County Cricket Club and the England cricket team. A reliable seam bowler who never suffered serious injury despite several lesser niggles,he played three Test matches in 1991 and 1993,and four One Day Internationals in 1993 and 1994. He was one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1994,the only one of that year's five who was not Australian.

Glamorgan Wanderers are a Welsh rugby union club based in Ely,west Cardiff in Wales. The club is located just to the north of Western Cemetery. They currently play in the WRU Admiral Championship. Glamorgan Wanderers began as the Old Monktonians,formed by ex-pupils of Monkton House School in 1893. In 1913 the team changed their name to Glamorgan Wanderers to reflect the wider intake of their membership. The club played rugby on seven different grounds in the earlier years,including former Cardiff RFC ground Sophia Gardens and Llandaff RFC's pitch Bishop's Field,until they were able to purchase their present ground in 1951. The ground was purchased via various fund raising appeals and is named the Memorial Ground in honour of former players who had died in the two World Wars.
Hensol Castle is a castellated mansion in the Gothic Revival style dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century,now a wedding and conference venue for The Vale Resort. It is located north of Clawdd Coch and Tredodridge in the community of Pendoylan in the Vale of Glamorgan,Wales. It is a Grade I listed building and its park is designated Grade II on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.
Ferndale RFC are a rugby union club based in the Upper Rhondda Fach,Wales. First formed in 1882,and disbanded in 1921,the club reformed in 1989. They currently play their home games at Greenwood Park,Ferndale formerly playing their home matches at Blaenllechau Park.

He appeared in 50 first-class matches as a left-handed batsman who bowled slow left arm orthodox spin. He scored 300 runs with the highest score of 27 and took 77 wickets with a best performance of six for 93.
Welsh Fire are a franchise 100-ball cricket side based in the city of Cardiff. The team represents the historic counties of Glamorgan,Gloucestershire and Somerset in the newly founded competition called The Hundred,which took place for the first time during the 2021 English and Welsh cricket season. Both the men's and women's teams play their home games at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
