Contents

In 2025, the club won the Welsh Esports League Premiership in Counter-Strike 2, which local media described as the first national esports title achieved by a team from Brecon. [2] [3] [4] The team is an affiliate member of Esports Wales. [5]

History

S.E.A. Dragons were founded in Brecon in 2024 by Patryk Białowąs and Dylan Carpenter. [1] The club was launched under the name of Białowąs’ analytics company, Scout Edge Analytics LTD (Scout.Edge.Analytics. Dragons), with reporting at the time noting an intention to apply data-led approaches from traditional sport within esports. [6]

In early coverage, the club described its analysis methods as including pitch-mapping in EA Sports FC and the use of external staff such as fitness coaches, analysts and media personnel. [6] By August 2025, the Dragons had confirmed their participation in the Welsh Esports League, becoming the only club from Powys to compete in the Premiership division. [1] They entered five of the six available titles, including Counter-Strike 2, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, Valorant and EA Sports FC 25. [1] The team also launched its first competitive jersey that year, promoted with a photoshoot in Cardiff referred to as the “Capital takeover.” [1]

Rosters for the 2025 season included EyEzNoZe in EA Sports FC, a player previously associated with Red Kites Esports, and a Counter-Strike 2 squad featuring several former Cardiff Pirates representatives. [1] The club also appointed Connor Chittock as Rocket League head coach, with additional signings in Rocket League and Rainbow Six Siege noted in local reporting. [1]

In September 2025, the Dragons completed their first Welsh Esports League campaign. They won the Premiership title in Counter-Strike 2, which local media reported as the first national esports title for a team from Brecon. [2] [3] [4] They also finished runners-up in EA Sports FC 25, third in Rocket League, and won the Tier 2 bracket in Rainbow Six Siege. [7]

Community and recognition

S.E.A. Dragons received public support from James Evans, Member of the Senedd for Brecon and Radnorshire, who described the team as "Brecon’s first ever esports team" and highlighted the opportunities esports provides for young people in developing teamwork and digital skills. [1] The club was also noted in the minutes of Brecon Town Council in January 2025, when they were discussed in request of support. [8]
