Sportsklubben Forward is a sports club in Oslo, Norway, which is primarily known for its ice hockey department.
The club was founded on September 25, 1915. The ice hockey department was one of the founding members of the Hovedserien, the top level of Norwegian ice hockey, in the 1934–35 season. The team regularly participated in the highest-level ice hockey leagues until after the 1985–86 season. They won a total of eight Norwegian championships, second only to Vålerenga Ishockey, from 1946 to 1964. From 1948 to 1971, they were known as Gamlebyen IF, before becoming SK Forward again. Forward currently competes in the 4. divisjon, the fifth level of Norwegian ice hockey.
The association has also had bandy, football, and handball departments. The bandy team won the Norwegian Bandy Premier League in 1928.

IK Göta is a Swedish sports club, which was very successful in several sports such as track and field, handball, bowling, field hockey, ice hockey, soccer and bandy during the 20th century. Their most famous and successful sport was ice hockey. They won the Swedish ice hockey championship nine times, including the inaugural championship in 1922. The club was also operating bandy teams, both women's and men's, winning the Swedish men's championship in bandy once, in 1927. In women's bandy they were far more successful, winning eight times, the last time in 1984.
Karlis Arvīds Jurgens was a Latvian footballer, ice hockey, basketball and bandy player who play played for Latvia national teams in all four of these sports. He was one of the best all-around Latvian sportsmen.

In the United States, the national governing body for bandy is the American Bandy Association (ABA), also called USA Bandy which was established in 1981, the same year it became a member of the Federation of International Bandy (FIB). Niilo Rudolf Tammisalo was an influential figure in Finnish sports in the first half of the 20th century. He was a versatile athlete who represented Finland as a player with the national teams in football, ice hockey, and bandy; he was also on Finnish Champion teams in each of the three sports with domestic clubs. When his career as a player came to a close in the early 1930s, he dedicated himself to coaching, refereeing, teaching, and administrating sports organizations.
Hanna Elisabeth Teerijokinée Heikura is a Finnish multi-sport athlete and the only European to represent their country on the national team in six different sports. Best known as a bandy and ice hockey player, she won a sum of 26 Finnish Championships in association football, bandy and rink bandy, field hockey, and golf, and two Swedish Championships in ice hockey.
