Syed Mujtaba Ali was a Bengali writer, journalist, travel enthusiast, academic, scholar and linguist. He lived in Bangladesh, India, Germany, Afghanistan and Egypt.
Abdul Gaffar Choudhury was a Bangladeshi-born British writer, journalist, columnist, political analyst and poet. He wrote the lyrics to "Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano", a widely celebrated song commemorating the Bengali Language Movement. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1967, Ekushey Padak in 1983, and Independence Day Award in 2009.
Rabeya Khatun was a Bangladeshi novelist. She wrote over 50 novels and more than 400 short stories. Her works also include essays, research, religious history and travelogues. She was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1973, Ekushey Padak in 1993 and Independence Day Award in 2017 by the Government of Bangladesh.
Ekushey Padak is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh, introduced in memory of the martyrs of the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. The award is given to recognize contributions in a number of fields, including culture, education, and economics. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs administers the award.

Ferdausi Rahman also known as Ferdausi Begum is a Bangladeshi playback singer. She is the daughter of folk singer Abbas Uddin. She sang some popular film songs for Pakistani films also in the 1960s especially working with the music composer Robin Ghosh in film Chakori released in 1967. She was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1977 and Independence Day Award in 1995 by the Government of Bangladesh. In addition, she was awarded the lifetime achievement award of the National Film Award in the year 2015.
Murtaja Baseer was a Bangladeshi painter and artist known for his abstract realism themed works. He was also a poet, author, researcher, numismatist, and filmmaker. Baseer was awarded the Ekushey Padak, Bangladesh's second highest civilian honor, in 1980, and the Swadhinata Padak, or Independence Day Award, Bangladesh's highest state award, in 2019.

Felani Khatun was a 10-year-old Bangladeshi girl who was shot and killed by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on 7 January 2011, along the Bangladesh–India border. A photograph showing Felani Khatun's dead body hanging on a border fence made of barbed wire was picked up by international media, and the publication of these photographs evoked international concern. The photo had created an "uproar" in Bangladesh. After a lot of back and forth between different courts within India, the case is still pending for final judgement as (MSM) a human rights activist platform in India has launched a petition in the country's Supreme Court seeking justice and compensation for the killing of Felani Khatun. Lawyer and Human Rights Activist SM Abraham Lincoln who has been the lawyer for Felani Khatun's Family on Bangladesh's side for the last 11 years, believes that after the COVID-19 pandemic the process has lost momentum. This Case is significant because of the international attention that it gathered and also paints a vivid picture of the length of struggle that people living in borderline Bangladesh have to go through.
Afzal Hossain is a Bangladeshi actor, director, writer and painter. He was awarded the Ekushey Padak, the second most important award for civilians in Bangladesh, in 2022.

He was the founder president of Nagorik Natya Sampradaya and founder of the Bangladesh Institute of Theater Arts. He wrote 7 poems, 4 plays and translated several plays. He was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in 2001 and Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1977.
Asim Saha was a Bangladeshi poet and novelist. He received Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2011 for his contributions to poetry. In recognition of his contribution to Bengali language and literature, the government of Bangladesh awarded him the country's second-highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2019.
