SOS Children's Villages is an independent, non-governmental, nonprofit international development organization headquartered in Innsbruck, Austria. The organization provides humanitarian and developmental assistance to families facing difficulties and supports children and young people without parental care or at risk of losing it. The organization also protects their interests and rights around the world. Today, SOS Children's Villages is active in more than 130 countries and territories worldwide.
The SOS Hermann Gmeiner Technical School is situated in Qiqihar, a city in Heilongjiang province, in the Northeast of China. Since its founding in 1996 the school focuses on two main learning fields: on the one hand on natural science and practical learning contents such as handcraft, on the other hand on language-teaching, especially on English lessons. It is named after Austrian philanthropist Hermann Gmeiner.

Pharo Secondary School, Sheikh is situated near the town of Sheikh in a remote part of the country Somaliland, and a three-hour drive from the country's capital, Hargeisa. The once-renowned boarding school was established in British Somaliland and at independence was considered one of the top schools in the country. It is the birth-place of Somalia's former anthem, Soomaaliyeey toosoo, which was composed by the teachers of Sheikh Secondary School. The school accepted a mere 50 students each year for the 31 years (1958–89) before it was destroyed by the Siad Barre regime, admitting 1,550 people over three decades. It was mostly destroyed in fighting in 1989, and had fallen into further disrepair during the Somali Civil War.

SOS Hermann Gmeiner College located in Mirpur-13 of the capital Dhaka city of Bangladesh is an educational institution. It was established in 1986 by the SOS-Kinderdorf International, headquartered in Innsbruck, Austria, a non-government organization. The foundation stone was laid by former President of Bangladesh, Hussain Muhammad Ershad. In 2010, the college was ranked among the top ten best institutions of the country for its academic performance in Secondary School Certificate Examination.

Paundur (पाउँदुर) is a central village in Kaski district of Gandaki Province of Nepal. It lies about 28 km west of the Pokhara valley and 38 km east of Kushma, Parbat. Annapurna Rural Municipality, Kaski is a Gaunpalika in Kaski District in Gandaki Province of Nepal named after the Annapurna Mountain. On 12 March 2017, the Government of Nepal implemented a new local administrative structure. With the implementation of the new local administrative structure, VDSs have been replaced with Municipal and Village Councils. Annapurna Gaupalika is one of these 753 local units.
