Music of Nepal refers to the various musical genres played and listened to in Nepal. With more than fifty ethnic groups in Nepal, the country's music is highly diverse. Genres like Tamang Selo, Chyabrung, Dohori, Adhunik Geet, Bhajan, Filmi music, Ghazal, Classical music, songs and Ratna music are widely played and popular, but many other less common genres are yet to be cataloged. Western musical genres like Rock, Metal, Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B also regularly feature on the Nepalese music charts. Most of the country's musical bands are based in the Kathmandu valley. Musical genres from Tibet and India have greatly influenced Nepalese music.
Nepali Cinema, also referred to as Kollywood or "Nepali Chalachitra" in Nepali, is the filmmaking industry in Nepal. This includes films in various languages of Nepal, most notably in Nepali, Maithili and Bhojpuri. The term Kollywood is also used, as a portmanteau for films produced in the Nepali language while the Nepalese films produced from Kathmandu and Janakpur in the Maithili language is known as Mithilawood. Both of these film industries are the largest viewing cinema of Nepal and are collectively known as Kollywood.

Sugam Pokharel is a Nepalese singer, music composer, songwriter, and radio jockey known for his contribution towards Nepali pop music. His first solo recording, Mero Sansaar (2001), became a top seller in Nepal. He gained recognition from the mass, particularly the youths, in the early 2000s, when pop music was not particularly popular among the general public. Because of this, he is seen as one of the most prominent figures in Nepali pop music.

Love You Baba is a 2014 Nepali film directed by Saugat Bista. Released on December 12, 2014, the film was unsuccessful at the box office but garnered two awards at the National Film Awards (Nepal). Actress Sangam Bista received "Best Child Artist" and Bista received the "Appreciation for youngest director" award.
A Mero Hajur 2 is a Nepali musical romantic movie directed by Jharana Thapa The second part of A Mero Hajur series, the film stars Samragyee RL Shah and debutant Salin Man Baniya in lead roles. The movie received mixed to negative response from critics with praise for its music but performances of the actors, direction, routine story and screenplay met with negative response from audience and critics. But the film had a huge opening weekend at the box office and owing to that it became a huge success at the box office. The success of the movie was credited for the massive popularity of its predecessor starring Shree Krishna Shrestha and Jharana Thapa and music of the film. The film had further two sequels.
Chhakka Panja is a 2016 Nepalese comedy drama film directed and produced by Deepa Shree Niraula. The film is Niraula's directorial debut and features an ensemble cast of Priyanka Karki, Deepak Raj Giri, Jeetu Nepal, Kedar Ghimire, Buddhi Tamang, Shivahari Poudel, Barsha Raut and Namrata Sapkota. The film is first part of Chakka Panja series and tells the story of Raja ,a rich but illiterate man and his group of friends Ateet(Shivahari Poudel), Saraswati(Jitu Nepal), Magne(Kedar Ghimire) and Buddhi(Buddhi Tamang), Raja who is devoted to the chase gives in to family pressure and gets married but different events unfolds in his and his group of friend's life that gives rise to comedy of errors and situations. The film received highly positive reviews for its screenplay and story, performances, humor and its social setting. The film was an " All Time Blockbuster " at the box office breaking several records at the box office was the highest grossing Nepali film of all time until it was overtaken by its 3rd part. However, due to piracy problems, the movie was released on YouTube. Due to the piracy, the international screening of the movie was highly affected. The film had two sequels :- Chhakka Panja 2 and Chhakka Panja 3, both of which were commercial blockbusters. Thus, it is the highest grossing Nepali movie franchise.

"Melancholy" is an environmentally-themed song sung by 365 Nepali artists. This song was intended to promote an environmental message by breaking the Guinness World Records for "Most Vocal Solos in a Song Recording", which it successfully did. It was written, music composed and directed by environmentalist Nipesh Dhaka. The song was recorded as a single on 19 May 2016. The recording sessions were inaugurated by Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli at 8 am and continued until 6 pm. The song was released on 2 September 2017 by President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Army Officer's Club, Kathmandu.

Her second movie Chapali Height 2 was also released in the same year which was a 2016 Psychological Thriller Nepali movie directed by Dipendra K Khanal and produced by Arjun Kumar. Jhumka regional prison is the largest correction centre in Eastern Nepal. It is located near Jhumka town in Sunsari district. Initially, it had capacity of 500 inmates; it was upgraded in 2014 to accommodate 1500 inmates. The prison has a facility of education and training for the prisoners.

Hari Bahadur's character is very popular and widely loved among Nepali people, it is considered one of the funniest in the country's entertainment industry.
