Many athletic camps for youths also use the gym, primarily in the summer, and other on-campus events, such as the Baccalaureate mass, are also held there. Banners commemorating successful seasons, championships and post-season appearances for all Saint Mary's sports hang on the back wall. At well-attended games, the court-level bleachers opposite the benches are reserved entirely for students.

Richard Barton "Mickey" McConnell is an American former professional basketball player and current assistant coach for the Saint Mary's Gaels of the West Coast Conference. He played college basketball at Saint Mary's College of California. In 2011, he was named West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. McConnell was drafted in 31st round of the 2011 MLB First Year Player Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Louis Guisto Field is a baseball venue in Moraga, California, United States. It was home to the Saint Mary's Gaels college baseball team of the NCAA Division I West Coast Conference from 1928 to 2011. Named for former Gaels baseball player and coach Louis Guisto, the field has a capacity of 1,000 spectators. Before being named for Guisto, the field was known as Brother Agon Field.

Louis Guisto Field is a baseball venue in Moraga, California, USA. It is home to the Saint Mary's Gaels baseball team of the NCAA Division I West Coast Conference. Opened in 2012, the venue replaced the old Louis Guisto Field as the home of Saint Mary's baseball. Like the old facility, it is named for former Saint Mary's baseball player and coach Louis Guisto. The field opened on February 17, 2012, when Saint Mary's defeated Southern Utah 2–1 in front of 1,100 fans. Former Major League pitcher Tom Candiotti threw out the honorary first pitch.

Eric Matthew Valenzuela in an American baseball coach and former pitcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the Saint Mary's Gaels. He played college baseball at Arizona State in 1997 before transferring to Pepperdine where he played from 1999 to 2001. He then served as the head coach of the Saint Mary's from 2014 until 2019 and at Long Beach State between 2019 and 2023.

They were invited to the Women's National Invitation Tournament, where they defeated Hawaii in the first round, Fresno State in the second round and Sacramento State in the third round before losing to UCLA in the quarterfinals.

The Gaels played their home games at the McKeon Pavilion in Moraga, California as members of the West Coast Conference. They finished the season 30–6, 16–2 in West Coast Conference play to finish in second place. As the No. 2 seed in the WCC tournament, they defeated Pepperdine in the quarterfinals before losing to BYU in the semifinals. They were one of the last four teams not selected for the NCAA tournament and as a result earned a No. 1 seed in the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Southeastern Louisiana in the first round and Washington in the second round before losing to Utah in the quarterfinals.

Therefore, they received an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and they lost in the first round to Villanova.

The Gaels played their home games at the University Credit Union Pavilion in Moraga, California as members of the West Coast Conference. They finished the season 26–8, 11–5 in WCC play to finish in a tie for third place. They defeated Pepperdine and BYU to advance to the championship game of the WCC tournament where they lost to Gonzaga. Despite being a virtual lock to receive an at-large bid to NCAA tournament, all postseason play was cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
