Sakhi Gokhale (born 27 July 1993) [1] [2] is a Marathi television and theatre actress. She is known for her portrayal in Dil Dosti Duniyadari as Reshma Inamdar and Dil Dosti Dobara as Pari. [3]

Early life and education

Gokhale attended Sahyadri School until grade 10. [4] She later pursued a Bachelor of Arts at Ruparel College. She also has an interest in dancing and has attended workshops by Shiamak Davar. [2] Her mother gifted her a DSLR after she finished her school education, which cultivated in her an interest in still photography. She then pursued a degree in Fashion and Fine Arts Photography from Bharti Vidyapeeth's School of Photography, Pune, going on to intern as a photographer under the guidance of Jaideep Oberoi, before getting into acting. As of July 2018, she was pursuing a master's degree in Art Curation in the UK [7] at the Royal College of Art. [8]

Career

Gokhale began her television career by appearing in a few Hindi advertisements. She played a small role, Venu, in the Hindi movie, Rangrezz in 2013. [9] She was also part of a one-act play before being cast as Reshma Inamdar in Dil Dosti Duniyadari . [1] After the show ended, she was also seen in the theatrical play, Amar Photo Studio . [10] She was awarded Fresh Face of the Year by Maharashtra Times in 2017. She was also part of the reboot sequel to Dil Dosti Duniyadari , Dil Dosti Dobara as Pari, along with the old cast. She also played the role of Seema in Pimpal (2017). [11] She has also written articles in Maitrin for the newspaper Sakal Pune. [12] [13] [14] She has also done still photography for the poster of the play Laginghai. [1]

In 2020, she was appointed as Creative Director at Aayaam, a concept alternative arts venue in Pune. [15]

Personal life

Sakhi Gokhale is the daughter of actors Mohan Gokhale and Shubhangi Gokhale. [16] She is very close to her mother. [7] She married her Dil Dosti Duniyadari co-star, Suvrat Joshi, on 11 April 2019. [17] [18]

<i>Duniyadari</i> 2013 Indian film

Duniyadari is a 2013 Indian Marathi-language coming-of-age romantic comedy drama film directed by Sanjay Jadhav and produced by Deepak Rane under the production banner of Dreaming 24/7 Productions. Released in Maharashtra on 19 July 2013 and considered to be a cult film in Marathi cinema, the film stars an ensemble cast of Swapnil Joshi, Ankush Chaudhari, Urmila Kanitkar Kothare, Sai Tamhankar, Jitendra Joshi, Sushant Shelar, Uday Sabnis, Uday Tikekar, Varsha Usgaonkar, Sandeep Kulkarni and Nagesh Bhosle. The film is based on the novel of the same name by late author Shri Suhas Shirvalkar and ran for more than 100 days in cinemas. The film is about the journey of everyone which eventually makes them realise the true face of life. This is the only Indian film of the decade (2010-2020) which has completed 50 weeks in cinemas and had the most collection at the box office for a film in Marathi which was broken by Timepass in 2014, again by Lai Bhaari and again by Sairat in 2016. The film was remade in Kannada in 2017 as Noorondu Nenapu and in Gujarati in 2017 as Duniyadari.

It revolves around six friends living as paying guests in Mumbai with the home owner's nephew Sujay, in a house they affectionately call "Mazghar". The serial's first season concluded on 20 February 2016. The series second season, Dil Dosti Dobara, was a reboot sequel.

Amar Photo Studio is a two-act Marathi play directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari, featuring Amey Wagh, Sakhi Gokhale, Suvrat Joshi, Pooja Thombre and Siddhesh Purkar. The first show was on August 13, 2016 at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha, Kothrud. It was written by Manaswini Lata Ravindra. The play is produced by Subak, in association with Kalakarkhana. Sakhi Gokhale was replaced by Parna Pethe after the 250th show.
