He earned the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Lyricist a record seven times for the films Tit for Tat (1992), Ajante (1996), Churiwala (2001), Lal Dariya (2002), Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti (2003), Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe (2016) and Joiboti Konyar Mon (2021). He worked as a lyricist in the "Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra". He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2002 and Independence Day Award in 2021 by the government of Bangladesh. "Ammajan" is a Bengali film music released in 1999. This song was used in the 1999 film Ammajan, directed by Kazi Hayat. Ayub Bachchu was the singer, while Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul composed the song. The song was picturized on Shabnam and Manna, with Manna lip-syncing to the song. Through this song, Bachchu became popular in Bengali films.

"Ananta Prem Tumi Dao Aamake" is a Bengali-language romantic song recorded by Ayub Bachchu and Kanak Chapa. The song was used in the 1997 film Loot Toraj, directed by Kazi Hayat. in which it was lip-synced by actors Manna and Moushumi. The lyrics and music were written by Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul. The song marked Bachchu's debut as a playback singer in Bengali films.

Tumi Amar Jibon also known as "Bhalobashar Manusha Tumi" is a romantic song from the 2020 political-drama film Bir, sung by Imran Mahmudul and Somnur Monir Konal. The song is composed by Akassh and penned by Kabir Bakul. National-award-winning choreographer Habibur Rahman has choreographed this song. It was revealed on February 6, 2020, on SK Films' YouTube channel as a promotional song for the film. Somnur Monir Konal won the Bangladesh National Film Award as Best Playback Singer jointly with Dilshad Nahar Kona for the song.

Amar Shopno Tumi is a 2005 Bangladeshi romantic action drama film directed by Hasibul Islam Mizan and produced by Mahmood Haque Shamim under the banner of S.N.N Pictures. The film's story and dialogue came from Zaman Akhter with screenplay by the director. It features Shakib Khan, Shabnur and Ferdous Ahmed in the lead roles with ATM Shamsuzzaman, Abul Hayat, Sharmili Ahmed, Rehana Jolly supporting cast.
