Sal Jobe is a British sports agent, boxing manager and actor. [1] [2] He has worked in professional boxing management and football representation and has been reported as managing heavyweight boxers. [3]
Jobe was born and raised in London, United Kingdom. He initially pursued a career in acting after training at the Brian Timoney School of Method Acting. He appeared in minor roles in feature films, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Legend of Tarzan . [4] During this period, he also undertook non-entertainment employment while seeking acting roles. [5] [6]
While working in the entertainment industry, Jobe reportedly developed professional contacts with athletes and later transitioned into sports representation. Reporting by The Guardian Nigeria described his boxing management and negotiations connected to professional bouts. [1] He was involved in negotiations relating to a proposed heavyweight world title fight between Jarrell Miller and Anthony Joshua in 2019; the bout did not take place following Miller's failed drugs test, after which their professional relationship ended. [7] [8]
Boxing News Online and other boxing outlets have referenced his involvement in career management discussions involving fighters including Petar Milas, whose international bouts included a 2021 fight against Tony Yoka. [2]
In addition to boxing, Jobe has worked in football representation and scouting. In 2022, The Citizen (Tanzania) reported that he planned to travel to Tanzania during the pre-season ahead of the international transfer window to meet players, including free agents, in connection with recruitment and representation activities. The report stated that he had previously arranged the transfer of more than 30 football players to European clubs and had been involved in football transfer and commercial arrangements. [9]
Interviews published by Vanguard Nigeria and Tribune Online have also discussed Jobe's involvement in player recruitment and transfer negotiations. [10]
Jobe is also the author of The Agent Game, a book published in 2020 that discusses football agency and sports representation. [9] [1]
