Salahuddin Panhwar (born 9 August 1966) is a Pakistani jurist and has been Justice of the Sindh High Court since 27 June 2012. [1]

Judiciary of Pakistan

The judiciary of Pakistan is a hierarchical system with two classes of courts: the superior judiciary and the subordinate judiciary. The superior judiciary is composed of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Federal Shariat Court and five High Courts, with the Supreme Court at the apex. There is a High Court for each of the four provinces as well as a High Court for the Islamabad Capital Territory. The Constitution of Pakistan entrusts the superior judiciary with the obligation to preserve, protect and defend the constitution. Neither the Supreme Court nor a High Court may exercise jurisdiction in relation to Tribal Areas, except otherwise provided for. The disputed regions of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit–Baltistan have separate court systems.

Provincial Assembly of Sindh is a unicameral house of elected representatives of people of Sindh established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan. Under this article, the total number of seats for the Assembly through direct vote is 168, of which 29 seats are reserved for women and 9 seats for non-Muslims.

Sindh High Court

The High Court of Sindh is the highest judicial institution of the Pakistani province of Sindh. Established in 1906, the Court situated in the provincial capital at Karachi. High courts of Pakistan

There are five high courts of Pakistan, each of four based in the capital city of one of the four provinces. The government has proposed a fifth high court to cover the Islamabad Capital Territory. This proposal was blocked by the Lahore High Court but that decision was overturned by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on 24 December 2007. In 18th constitutional amendment, Islamabad High Court is established.

The Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi), whose leader is Afaq Ahmed, is a political party claiming to represent the Mohajir in Sindh, Pakistan. The Movement was originally established by Altaf Hussain in 1978 as All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organization (APMSO), in Karachi University. Presently, the movement is known as "Haqiqi", a break away faction of the original Mohajir Qaumi Movement (which was later renamed the "Muttahida Qaumi Movement", headed by Altaf Hussain, who is living in self-exile in London.

Agha Rafiq Ahmed Khan

Agha Rafiq Ahmed Khan belongs to Garhi Yasin in Shikarpur District of Sindh, Pakistan. He is the son of Agha Mohammad Anwer Khan, and was educated at D.C. High School in Garhi Yasin. Subsequently, he graduated from the C&S Government College, Shikarpur and also graduated in Law from the University of Sindh in 1971. He is also the son-in-law of Justice Mushtak Ali Kazi, who was a Judge of High Court of Sindh and Balochistan. Justice Agha is a Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He served as the Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan from 2009-2014.

Sindhi Pathan is the name of Pashtun communities living in Sindh for centuries and have adopted norms and culture of Sindh, the strongest of the Pashtun residing in Sindh bear the castes Naghar, Agha and Kakar. The vast majority of the Sindhi Pathan originate from Quetta and southern Afghanistan, and a few come from the FATA belt. Shikarpur, New Zarkhail, Pir Bux Wandh, Garhi Yasin, Sultan Kot Shahpur Chakar whereas others live in other urban, sub-urban and rural areas of Sindh. The tribes most commonly to be found in the Sindh region are the Muhammadzais, Niazai, Kundi, Miana, Bangash, Yusufzai, Hassan Zai, Mandanr, Lodhi, Kakar, Sherwani, Orakzai, Tareen, Sulemankhel sulemani, Afridi,Khattak Kakazai, Karlanri, barakzai, Khizerzai, Babar and the Zamand Pathans.

Mushtak Ali Kazi

Justice Mushtak Ali Kazi, was a Pakistani jurist and writer, who served as a Judge of the High Court of Sindh and Balochistan.

Anwar Zaheer Jamali is a Pakistani jurist who served as the 24th Chief Justice of Pakistan. He remained in the Supreme Court from 3 August 2009 to 30 December 2016. He has also served as the Acting Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, and Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court. In 1995, he was elected as Chairman Executive Committee (CEC) of the Sindh Bar Council and held this position till his elevation to the Bench. He was highly praised for being one of the few judges who refused to take fresh oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order No.1 of 2007. He took several suo motos as a Chief Justice, notably on several human rights cases.

Sir George Baxandall Constantine (1902–1969), KBE, was an English and Pakistani jurist who served as the Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, and prior to that, Governor of Sindh for a brief tenure. In 1955, he was elevated as the justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1955 and served until 1960.

Maqbool Baqar is a Pakistani Jurist and Judge of Supreme Court of Pakistan, born 5 April 1957 in Karachi, Pakistan. Completed his Law education of LL.B. from University of Karachi to entered in legal profession in May 1981. Elevated as Judge of High Court of Sindh on 26 August 2002 and Chief Justice of the Province of Sindh on 20 September 2013. Justice further elevated as Judge, Supreme Court of Pakistan on 17-02-2015.
