Salahuddin Tunio (Sindhi : صلاح الدين تونيو, Urdu : صلاح الدين تونيو; born 28 February 1949) is a Pakistani actor in television and film. [1] He is the father of Fahad Mustafa. [2]

Early life and education

Tunio was born to Muhammad Ibrahim Tunio on 28 February 1949, in a village Dhanibux Tunio near Qambar.

Career

Cinema

In a 2025 interview with Dawn , Tunio stated that after the death of actor Waheed Murad during the production of the 1985 film Hero , director Iqbal Yusuf approached him to complete the remaining scenes of the film. Tunio said he was considered due to his resemblance to Murad, but he declined the offer and chose to continue focusing on television rather than moving into film at that stage of his career. [3]

Awards and recognition

In 2014, Salahuddin Tunio was awarded the Pride of Performance by the Government of Pakistan in recognition of his contributions to television and the performing arts. The civil award was conferred by the President of Pakistan on Independence Day as part of the annual national honours ceremony. [6]
