Elk Grove Village is a village in Cook and DuPage counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. Located 20 miles (32 km) northwest of Chicago along the Golden Corridor, the Village of Elk Grove Village was incorporated on July 17, 1956. It is directly adjacent to O'Hare International Airport and is economically important to the Chicago metropolitan area due to its large industrial park, located on the eastern border of the village. The community is served by several Interstate highways including I-90, I-290/I-355/Route 53, and IL-390. Elk Grove is also expected to be served by the I-490 Western O'Hare Bypass upon completion of the project. The population was 33,127 at the 2010 census.

Olyphant is a borough in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is six miles (10 km) northeast of downtown Scranton, on the Lackawanna River in the heart of the anthracite region of the state. Its main source of employment was the mining and shipping of coal. It was the headquarters of the Lackawanna Coal Company. Other industries of the past were the manufacturing of blasting powder, iron and steel goods, cigars, and silks. Olyphant experienced a severe downturn in the 1950s. There was once a thriving garment industry with numerous dress factories in the downtown area. There was also a slaughterhouse. Until recently, the biggest industry was the manufacture of compact discs (CD) and digital video discs (DVD). The population was 5,151 at the 2010 census.

The Junior - Senior High School was built in 1954, at a cost of $550,000.00. Students first occupied the building on January 21, 1955. This new building consisted of six class rooms and special rooms for the commercial department, library, homemaking, music, art, geography and science, and a suite of rooms for industrial arts, cafeteria, administrative suite and a gym/auditorium seating nearly 700. The building was renovated in the early 21st century.
