Sam Ayoub is an Australian rugby league manager for players such as Johnathan Thurston and Robbie Farah. [1] [2] He established Ultra Management (Sports) in 1988 where he is still a director.

Ayoub was one of the first player managers in the Australian Rugby League and has been called "one of the game's most powerful." [3] One of his first clients, Adrian Lam, was his former touch football teammate. [3]

In 2005, Ayoub was banned by the Australian Touch Football Association for abusing officials while he was coach of the Australian men's under-20 team. [3] In 2011, he was caught up in an investigation into suspicious betting activity. [3] In March 2011, Ayoub and his client Ryan Tandy were arrested and Ayoub and former player John Elias were charged by police with "attempt to obtain financial advantage by deception" after admitting to betting on his client's game. [4] [5] [6] Tandy was found guilty of match fixing, [7] but the charges against Ayoub were dismissed. [8]

Ayoub was investigated by police again in 2016 after allegations of salary cap breaches by the Parramatta Eels. [9]

In 2019, Ayoub took two former employees to court, alleging they tried to poach 16 of his clients by amending their contracts without his knowledge while working for him. [10] [11] During cross examination, it was revealed that Ayoub sent numerous abusive and harassing messages to his former employees due to this discovery. [12] Ayoub won the case. [13]

The New Zealand Warriors 2010 season was the New Zealand Warriors 16th first-grade season. The club competed in Australasia's National Rugby League and finished fifth in regular season before being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. The coach of the team was Ivan Cleary while Simon Mannering was the club's captain. The Warriors won the club championship award for having the best combined results between the first grade team and the under-20s. The Junior Warriors then went on to win the Toyota Cup grand final, the club's first grand final win in sixteen years.

John Elias is a Lebanese-Australian former professional rugby league footballer and coach. During the 1980s and 1990s he played for clubs in Sydney, Brisbane, England and France where he also coached. Elias also played and coached for the Lebanon national team.

The 2013 Brisbane Broncos season was the 26th in the club's history. Coached by Anthony Griffin and captained by Sam Thaiday, they competed in the NRL's 2013 Telstra Premiership. Brisbane finished the regular season in 12th, thus failing to qualify for the finals for the first time since 2010.
