Samuel Chinedu Onwuaso is a Nigerian politician who served as a member in the 9th National Assembly representing Awka North/Awka South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. [1] He was succeeded by Emeka Vincent Igwe.
Sam Onwuaso was born in 1970 and hails from Anambra State. He succeeded Anayo Nnebe and was elected in 2019 to the National Assembly. In 2019,he spoke about a possible landslide occurrence in Awka North LGA,Anambra State if proactive action was not taken. [1] [2]
He moved a motion to investigate the alleged corrupt practices of the National Universities Commission (NUC) during university accreditations. [3]
Anambra is a state in Nigeria. It is located in the South-eastern region of the country. The state was created on 27 August 1991. Anambra state is bounded by Delta State to the west,Imo State and Rivers State to the south,Enugu State to the east and Kogi State to the north. Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka,fondly called UNIZIK, is a federal university in Nigeria. It consists of two campuses in Anambra State. Its main campus is in Awka,while its other campus is in Nnewi. There are also other campuses of Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka. These include Agulu in Anaocha local government area and Ifite-Ogwuari in Ayamelum local government area in Anambra State. This makes Nnamdi Azikiwe University to operate in the three Senatorial Districts in Anambra State,Nigeria having Awka campus,in Anambra Central Senatorial District,Nnewi in Anambra South Senatorial District and Ifite-Ogwuari in Anambra North Senatorial District,respectively.
Awka'Awka South Local Government Area (LGA) is made up of nine towns,namely,Amawbia,Awka,Ezinato,Isiagu,Mbaukwu,Nibo,Nise,Okpuno and Umuawulu. There are three major streets that span this area,which are the Zik Avenue,Works Road and Arthur Eze Avenue. In the past,the people of Awka South LGA were well known for blacksmithing. Paul University,Awka (PUA) is located in Awka,Anambra State in Nigeria. It is a private Christian University. It was founded in 2009 by Bishops of the five ecclesiastical provinces of the Anglican Church East of the Niger to provide undergraduate training in Arts,Natural and Applied Sciences,Social Sciences and Management. The university which is fully residential has an estimated enrollment of around 400 students and has replaced St Paul's University College which was founded in 1904 by the Church Missionary Society of the Church of England to train church workers and teachers. Anayo Nnebe was a Nigerian politician who served as the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015. He was also elected to represent the Awka North and Awka South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly in 2015 under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Paul Nwosu is a Nigerian publisher and editor. In April 2022,he was sworn in as a Commissioner in Anambra State,Nigeria. However,Sir Paul was replaced with Law Mefor when he resigned from his appointment as a Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment. The news had it that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo sacked him as he resigned the same day the new Commissioner was sworn in. However,his resignation letter was revealed which stated,“I wish to resign my appointment as the Commissioner,Anambra State. I have consistently been in the service of Anambra State Government for ten years and six months,and I think it is time to move on to other things. My wife,Neta,and I are very grateful for the opportunity you have given to serve Anambra State. We are confident that with the policies and programmes you have enunciated,Anambra State is destined to become the liveable and prosperous homeland you promised our people.”He was the chairman of BeeCharity Outlook Foundation,an NGO focused on child labour eradication.

Rita Mmaduagwu is a Nigerian politician and Lawyer. She was the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly from 2015 -2017. She is the third female Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly. She served two tenures as a legislator in Anambra State. She was first elected in 2011 and represented the Nnewi South constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In 2012,Maduagwu defected to All Progressives Grand Alliance,APGA where she was given the APGA membership cards by their ward chairmen.
