Samaru is a town and ward in Sabon Gari Local Government of Kaduna state, Nigeria. [1] The town is a semi-urban area in which Ahmadu Bello University main campus is located. [2] Samaru is one of the most popular town in Zaria with different ethnic groups living together in peace and harmony. Samaru is home for all tribe. [3]

Geography of Samaru

Samaru is located on latitude 110' 25'N and Longitude 40' 26'E with two basic seasons, which are dry season and the rainy season. [3] The seasons of Samaru enable farmers to produce good farm products at the end of every season. [4]

History

Samaru is under Zaria emirate but came into full existence in 1924, when the Institute for Agriculture Research and Training center was established at Samaru. [5]

Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic is a tertiary education institution in Zaria Kaduna State, Nigeria. The polytechnic was established on 2 February 1989 by the Kaduna state government to provide training and development techniques in the Field of engineering, applied science, commerce and other spheres of learning. The polytechnic is one of the tertiary teaching institutions owned and managed by the Kaduna State government. The polytechnic was named after the then Nigeria's foreign minister Nuhu Bamalli. In August 2022, Barrister Abdullahi Zubair Abdullahi was appointed the new Registrar of the polytechnic.

Suleiman Abdu Kwari is a Nigerian politician and public finance management expert, senator for the Kaduna North Senatorial District of Kaduna State Nigeria. He was elected during the February 2019 Nigeria general elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ivara Ejemot Esu OFR, is a Nigerian politician, academic administrator and professor and is the former Deputy Governor of Cross River State. He hails from Agwagune in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. He holds the Nigerian National Honours Award in the rank of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) conferred on him by President Obasanjo in 2005 and the Cross River State Honours Merit Award conferred on him by Governor Donald Duke in 2004 for carrying out excellent management reforms at the University of Calabar. Muhammadu Lawal Bello served as the Chief Judge of the High Court of Justice of Kaduna State, Nigeria. He succeeded Chief judge Tanimu Zailani.

Fatima Ibrahim Shema in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. She was the First Lady and wife to the former Executive Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema. She is a humanitarian and has often been referred to as the Iron Lady due to her resolute character and intolerance, and she was awarded the Most Valuable Governor's Wife in the North-West award. Fatima has never worked with the government but rather ran personal businesses until becoming the First Lady in 2007.
