Sami Martin Saif (born in 1972) is a Danish award-winning documentary filmmaker.

Sami Saif graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 1997 having made the short The UFO War. [1] He then started work on Danish broadcaster DR mainly in the TV Children and Youth Department. [2]

In 2000, Sami Saif directed The Video Diary of Ricardo Lopez, based on the final days of Ricardo Lopez who was obsessed with Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk. [3] He followed it up with the documentary Family co-directed with Phie Ambo  [ da; fr ], that won Saif and Ambo multiple awards. [4] It is a touching journey seeking to find his missing father aided by his then-girlfriend, Phie Ambo. Other films winning or being nominated for awards were Dogville Confessions (2003) and Tommy (2010) about singer, composer and musician Tommy Seebach. [5]

Ricardo López (stalker) American stalker

Ricardo López, also known as the "Björk stalker", was a Uruguayan-American stalker who attempted to murder Icelandic musician Björk. He developed an obsession with Björk in 1993, and became angry over her relationship with musician Goldie. Over the course of nearly nine months, he made video diaries musing about Björk and other topics at his apartment in Hollywood, Florida. On September 12, 1996, he mailed a letter bomb rigged with sulfuric acid to Björk's residence in London, then returned home and filmed his suicide by gunshot. Hollywood police found his body and videos four days later; they contacted the police in London, who intercepted the package, and Björk was unharmed.
