Samsung Super League

The Samsung Super League was the commercial denomination of the Nations Cup , one of the most prestigious Grand Prix Show Jumping series in the world, from 2003 until 2008.

The Samsung Super League was sponsored by Samsung Electronics and organized by the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI). Teams from eight nations competed on a rotating basis. The team with the lowest score at the end of the series was relegated, and the highest ranking Nations Cup team was given the opportunity to take their place.

Competition

This series consisted of eight events in eight European countries. Each of the eight participating teams consisted of four riders who rode the course twice. Each team's lowest score for each round was dropped. Teams scored points for their placings in each event, with the final event in Barcelona counting double.

History

Samsung first became a sponsor of FEI show jumping competition in 1988. [1] The first Super League series took place in 2003. [2] Samsung's involvement with FEI show jumping ended after the 2008 super league season. [3]

It was held at eight European venues from May 9 to September 21, 2008. Germany won the series for the third consecutive year, while Ludger Beerbaum of Germany won the title of top rider. Sweden was relegated to the 2009 FEI Nations Cup after finishing last in the eight team series.

The 2008 Samsung FEI Nations Cup Promotional League was the 2008 edition of the second division of the Samsung Super League, an international team Grand Prix show jumping competition run by the FEI. Ireland won the Promotional League the previous year and had been promoted to the 2008 Samsung Super League. France joined the series, having been relegated from the 2007 Samsung Super League.

The seventh event of the 2008 Samsung Super League was held in Dublin, Ireland on August 8, 2008 during the 2008 Dublin Horse Show. The Great Britain won the event, finishing with only fourteen penalties over the two rounds of competition, five fewer than host nation Ireland's nineteen faults. Jessica Kürten of Ireland, Harry Smolders of the Netherlands, and Hillary Dobbs of the United States were the only riders to complete a clear round and were each awarded one point in the top rider standings. A €156,000 purse was offered at the CSIO***** event, with each of the eight competing teams receiving a share.

Sweden having been relegated from the 2008 Super League. because of new rules Sweden also start in the 2009 Meydan FEI Nations Cup.

The Jumping International de France 2010 was the 2010 edition of Jumping International de France, the French official show jumping horse show, in the Stadium François André in La Baule-Escoublac. It was held as CSIO 5*.

Dressage World Cup

The FEI World Cup Dressage Final is an annual international dressage series involving the world's best dressage horses and riders. It has been held since 1985.

The 2011 FEI Nations Cup was the 2011 edition of the FEI Nations Cup, a premier international team Grand Prix show jumping competition run by the FEI. It was held at eight European venues from May 13 to August 26, 2011.

The 2011 FEI World Cup Finals in Leipzig, Germany were the Final of four World Cups in different Equestrian sports. They were held in the exhibition halls 1 and 3 at the new Leipzig Trade Fair from April 27 to May 1, 2011.

The 2004 Euro Beach Soccer League, was the seventh edition of the Euro Beach Soccer League (EBSL), originally known as the European Pro Beach Soccer League, the premier beach soccer competition contested between European men's national teams, occurring annually since its establishment in 1998. The league was organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) between July 2 and September 5, 2004 in ten different nations across Europe.
