Sandeep Bhargava is an Indian media executive, entrepreneur, and film producer. He has worked extensively across film, television, and streaming, holding senior leadership roles at major companies and co-founding ventures in the media and technology sectors. Bhargava joined Chalkboard Entertainment as a partner in 2023. [1] [2]
Bhargava graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from H. L. College of Commerce. He later earned an MBA in Marketing and International Business from The University of Akron, Ohio, United States.
Bhargava began his career in advertising, working with agencies such as MullenLowe Lintas, DDB Mudra Group, and Bates India. He transitioned into media and entertainment with UTV, helping to launch Hungama TV and its motion picture business.
He replaced Boney Kapoor as the CEO of Sahara One in 2013. [3] [4]
At Sahara One Media and Entertainment Limited, he oversaw film production and the launch of the television channel Filmy. Bhargava later joined Viacom18, where he helped establish The Indian Film Company on the AIM Exchange in London, raising US$110 million for film production and distribution. [5] During his tenure, he was associated with the production of commercially successful films such as Jab We Met (2007), Welcome (2007), and Ghajini (2008).
He later worked on expanding Bollywood's global reach through a partnership between Relativity Media and B4U. [6] He also served as CEO of Purple Pebble Pictures, promoting regional Indian cinema in collaboration with actor-producer Priyanka Chopra. [7]
Bhargava is a co-founder of the Third Eye Cinema Fund, a SEBI-registered alternative investment fund, and Tobble MediaTech, a media technology platform. He currently serves as a partner at Val-More Action Advisory.
